no it's not just you, the lockpicks are too fast making it hard to aim for the pins and locks lag like hell in IC for me.

I picked two locks on the new chests with the glowing blue gem in IC last night and it behaved no different than live for me.

The only problem I've had with the IC glowing chests is when a groupmate aggros a group of NPCs and knocks me out of the lockpicking animation

What's happening to the OP? Do you mean it feels worse or it fails more often?

It hasn't felt right to me either. It seems like it lagging. I'm releasing when I normally would, but it doesn't release in the picking UI right away. It hesitates and then it doesn't take because it's too late. It could have literally simply been lagging either that or it's acting a little different.

It's really faster when trying move between pins, but it lags when you are starting to lift the pick off the pin.
It's almost "jittery" moving between pins as it's hard to accurately move from one pin to the next. Ex. Turn your mouse setting up to really fast with small movement, it goes half way across your screen.

I had trouble describing the problem properly. This is exactly what lockpicking feels like to me on the PTS.

What I found today is that the lockpick broke, however I was still able to continue to pick the lock. In live it breaks and forces me to use a new lockpick. PTS it breaks and shows the animation but under that animation I still was able to lock the pin.

I didn't had issue with the chest in the sewers, but I can not possibly open the gates in the WhiteGold Tower. I think it's more stress than lag though

I had the same issues. Especially with the cage on the left closest to the boss. We called that the cage of death...lol! It either bugged out or would give the error message "someone is using". I respec'd put points in ledgerman lockpicking and now force the lock. It really is so much easier for VWGT!

I tried lockpicking a normal chest below a rawl'kha bridge with a v15 character, there was no loot from it.

So, we took a look and nothing should be different with lockpicking (aside from one bug involving broken lock picks). Any chance you guys who are seeing the issue could take a video or livestream for us? Not sure if the issue will translate well, but it's worth a shot.

the bug itself is like if the mouse sensibility where increased in the moment u start lockpicking making really hard goe from one pin to the other

I have picked a lot of locks, with and without lag and there has been no difference other than the bug where you can keep picking a lock after your pick breaks, which I assume the bug you are refering to.

I can confirm this. The lockpick seems to jump between tumblers, sometimes making it difficult to land on the one you want, and when pushing them everything's laggy and jittery.

Broken lockpick issues in PTS for me, too.

Granted, my lockpicking skills are sorely lacking, but lockpicks should not break when first touching a ping or break off moving to the next pin.

Also, even with a Level 1 chest and A VR template toon, Force Lock invariably breaks the lock with no re-attempt possible.

Is this as intended? Or a "balancing" issue for a VR toon on a Level 1 (Simple) lock for a basic random chest?

The stuttering could just be the PTS lag. That would explain why ZOS wouldn't feel it on their end. Of course, if it's happening under optimal conditions then who knows what's going on.

I haven't had any issues picking chests in PTS. I also haven't seen as much lag as everyone has been talking about.

For me, the most trouble/bugs is with the cage in the white gold tower; zos knows which one i'm referencing.

There is additional hesitation in the movements, both the compression and the left to right movement of the pick. (It's a stutter, more or less, making it feel less fluid.)
On release and often on pick-break, you can resume the compression immediately, though the pick itself will be invisible.

^ Same issue I experienced, the stuttering and hesitation. Thought it was my mouse for a minute.

i can tell , i get a huge fps drop when i try to lockpick a chest inside IC.
it's a sudden fps drop, just while in lockpick interface. i cant provide a video though

I haven't had any issues with lockpicking on PTS. I'm at level 20 legerdemain, does that affect it at all?

First thing I did was pick some locks on the pts, moving between pins was harder than actually picking the lock, it felt like the mouse sensitivity had been turned up 300%. I didn't notice any fps drops or latency. I did an ingame /feedback, I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this experience.

I can confirm that this is still happening on the PTS server. Mouse jumps like its sensitivity is too high.
