I can see us poisoning swords, daggers and arrowheads. But how would one poison a staff?
Enchanting is basically poison right?
i feel poisons are more of a rouge/nightblade thing so it should be a skill/perk for them. and i also feel it should only be for daggers :P
but thats just my crazy mind thinking :P
But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine from what I know of you: are you the sort of man who would put the poison into his own goblet or his enemy's? Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet, because he would know that only a great fool would reach for what he was given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.
Voting on my own poll...
Yes, poisons should be applied to weapons, but only to the weapons listed below:
Bow
Dagger
One-Handed Weapons (Sword, Mace, Axe)
Why only those 3? Well, unless you can hit someone in a melee with a staff, it's not gonna be effective. And 2-handed weapons are more likely to cut someone in half before the poison even starts working, so what's the point of applying a poison to the 2-handed weapons?
All the others though are fair game.

"Wait Mr. Molag , let me drink this poison before we engage in battle , please." How dumb is that? So you can craft poison that can only be ingested?
Sometimes I just dont have the words.
yes, they should, but... how will they work? will they have a timer, or hit count ? or just 1 for hit ? and if so, the effects are kinda "deal xdmg and deal extra xx for 5 seconds" , be given once the hit lands, okay, sounds fun.
but how people would re-poison their weapons ?
also the staff issue, and maces also, since they are blunt trauma weapons, they lack teh capacity for actually injecting poison in one's circulatory system...
I mean, they could apply it based on quick-slot, unlocked with a bow/dual wield passive or something, but if so, would ww take extra dmg from it as well? since, you know, poison ?
