Sooo... Race changes for pre 1.6 players?

Can we see this added? Some race/class combos were great with stat caps, but are now complete trash (for example..stamina sorcs).

Any word on if we are ever going to see paid race changes?

well, its been over a year and we have yet to see any character re customization options outside of the character creating screen. . .so "outlook not good", we don't even have a barber yet so I dou. . . OMG LOOK A FOX PET SO CUTE

I think changing looks on your charrecter could be added.
I dont wanna see a sexchange, racechange or alliance change.

I don't understand how you can logically justify having such an opinion considering that the developers changed how race works thus invaluating some people's race choice. You can argue that race change should not be allowed simply at whim, but since it wasn't the player's fault that game mechanics were changed and that those players were not given an option to reroll a different race, you can not logically think that it is truly justifiable to never allow race change...

On the open beta we got told the Argonian racials were known as the worst and would get an update well a year on they still suck and even the changes they will get in 2·1 they still look under whelming

They confirmed a couple months back on ESO Live that race change is coming to the Crown Store.

BUT, buying a race change is the worst thing that could happen for people that want racial passives balanced. It encourages ZOS to not fix the problem, and actually make more money off of the poor design of the racial passives. Then, all they have to do to drum up more income is overhaul the racials (like everyone is asking them to do) and then get people to buy another race change. Yay cash shop!

I do agree however THIS is the correct answer. Racials should be fixed so you don't feel the need to be a different race. That however does require some effort on Zenimax's part which they have already proven they are unwilling to do........WOOHOO we got a few more pts in health and 0/+1%/+2% boost to post effectiveness while WEs had their stamina DOUBLED and HE had their mag regen raised by 33%?

Zenimax do you not get why people shy away from playing an Agronian?

I can't imagine the corner that ZOS is painted into with the racial passives. They have to balance lore-friendly (Yes, some actually give a crap) with some sort of image/balance.

The problem is some of the weaker races (passives wise) don't really have an image of where ZOS wanted them to be. Argonians seemed to be some combo of tank/healer however if ZOS just went the easy route and changed Quick to Mend to include healing done but maybe lower the % to 1/3/4, then they'd have some sort of better image of what the best play style is for them besides trolling and weird names. That's just an example but just saying.

@oTargetPractice I see what you are saying about image and I entirely agree on that point.

As for lore friendly-ness, I believe it is possible to accommodate both lore and balance, if they really put some creative thought into solving the problem.

As for having he opinion that race hange shouldn't be allowed, sure you can have that opinion... But that doesn't negate the justifiable reasons for allowing race chages... At least to me.

It would for a roleplaying perspective completely destoy the game.
Likewise from a lore perspective. you can maybe explain alliance-change thru traitors but i doubt people would want more spies than there allready is. We can justify slight changes such a hairstyle and general look. but not sex change and racechance.

Maybe im being silly. Want the game to make sence from the worlds point of view insterd of looking purely at game mechanics but i think it just makes the game so much less beliveable to see people changing race and sex left n right.

Duurrrrr. Roleplayers wouldn't be changing race and sex left and right, so your roleplay would be unaffected. Not everyone playing this game wants to be into the lore and whatnot. They just want to play the game.

Besides, any roleplayer worth his salt would have a race or sex-changed character be an entirely new character ICly, not the same one.

If your RP friends wouldn't do that, start hanging out with better roleplayers.

ZoS should just get rid of race and gender completely. Selections should match what players choose in game, and they should just let everyone pick vampire, werewolf, or skellie.

I completely agree but the reality at present is that some races are clearly better than others.

@NTclaymore I have to disagree that it would be game breaking even for RP -- it's a choice, and of you are committed to rp then logically you would be committed to you character. That said, race change has, in numerous ways, been validated by game lore including the wabbajack and the wild hunt.
