There is morph of that skill available that increases the range to 11 metres AFAIK.

Indeed and as it levels up it goes to 12.5meters range. Want to tell me now what is the purpose of an ability that doesn't hit anyone that is actually moving and it not rooted/stationary? So who is gonna use Whirling Blades and not Steel Tornado?
Whirling Blades range needs 1-2 meters increase so that it is viable (that means it will go from 5 meters.....yes 5 meters up to 6-7). Unless devs want Whirling Blades to be some kind of a "filler" ability that none uses and it just exists there with 0 purpose.

On the other hand all magicka AoEs are 6m at best and deal pitiful damage too. Whirling Blades still hits harder than Impulse or Wall of Elements and if spammed amidst many opponents the cost is almost 0.
If any change is meant to happen that is a reduction in Steel Tornado range, not a range increase for Whirling Blades.
Impulse has a 5m range and is still in use, just what is wrong with Whirling Blades then.

Sharpened is fixed for next update and Steel Tornados range is fine as the otehr morph gives back stamina tornado doesn't. Its range is its morphs point. Also, "Steel Ballerina" made me laugh..hahaha. I vote to change its name to this in 1.7.

Why is this even a discussion? All other range improving morphs only give 2m. Going out to 12.5m is just stupid. At 8m steel tornado would still be an amazing ability.
There are a few other pbae abilities that start at 8m, but they don't have a range increasing morph.
