Best class?

I know it's subjective, so let me describe my preferences for you. I prefer to get into the thick of things and do major damage. I don't like performing a support role-my preference has always been primary damage dealer. Right now my focus is on PvE and leveling my character. Currently running a level 20 DK, but have been reading they don't do that well in PvP-not as good as others. I'm also running a level 11 stamina based NB, which seems to be put out more damage. Since I'm a newer player to this game, which class has the potential to do highest amount of damage? I'm on a console so I don't get to see damage amounts. I'm not concerned if it's burst damage or sustained-I just want the ability to massive amounts of damage.

DK potetially has better opportunities for massive AoE dmg while NB for single target.
So magika dunmer DK with inferno staf will do more DPS agains tons of adds while stamina NB with 2H or bow will do more DPS on single target.

Choose Non-Templar, and you'll be fine.
Templars are 'just slower... by design'
Yes, Gina actually said that (at least regarding Rushed Ceremony) right here:

    lol?

Stamina templar is the highest AoE DPS build in the game right now, and if the fight lasts longer than 40seconds, it is also the highest single target DPS.

@OP, based on what you said, I would recommend either, the stamina templar, or magicka dragonknight, as an fyi, the magicka dk currently does the highest single target DPS if the fight lasts shorter than 40seconds, so both of those builds are extremely powerful during both leveling and end-game.

However... thats only for PvE. You can do well with the stamina templar in PvP if you're fairly skilled, and you'll do even better with the magicka dk, but I would have to point out that there are better builds for PvP in general, for one, sorcs are arguable the best class, and dragonknights that use magicka and stamina equally with 1H&shield are also pretty powerful.

Stamina nightblades can also be very, very good in PvP, but with the 1.7 update about to drop, things may quickly change for the worse with all the stamina nerfs.

Kahjiit NB? Or High Elf sorcerer? It depends on what you can, if you are good in dragonknight, play dragonknight, if you don't like mages, don't be a sorcerer.

I think you just answered your own question.

L2P templar mate. I am TIRED for people bashing templars because they are hard to play well, especially in PvP.

The Jabsmania build is PvE focused but can be tweaked for PvP. I'll help with a few tips... Think Vampire, drop Camp Hunter, use purifying ritual/repentence/rally/defensive posture for heals/sustain and use 2H with 1H/S backup. You sacrifice ranged attacks but my melee DPS is absolutely insane with the right gear.
