Hey I am all for a text chat window. I'm just laughing at the people who are getting so salty about it by saying "this game is dead to me," "the game is dying because of no text chat."
You are making your message in the main threads about it, you don't need to drag it into every damn console thread.

Yes it is, because it's a huge issue.

I think if you want to be one of the guys that runs around saying who wants to buy this, anyone want to buy this, who wants to buy this. You shouldn't be able to hide behind a text to do it. You should have to run around looking like a loser and ask people. And get the dude no one wants that crap area chat, or the one guy that is interested that sees what your charging for something and laughs at you in front of everyone. All these people just want to hide behind chats. Hide them being annoying, hide them wanting to pretend to be a chick, or hide their kid voice. Stop trying to hide people
I'm on ps4 and working on Cadwell's gold story and there is almost no one else ever here. I see people every now and then but it does make me wonder what happened to everyone else. I don't really mind though because it leaves all the resources for me. Last night I found five chests within ten minutes and before I'd be lucky to find one every few hours.

I got a lot of info from that, there are two groups attacking one SE one SW.
The beginning a group leader was say good s*** to the group for taking the outpost.
What is your point other than you have distorted audio.
Everybody gets that some want text chat.
But a wall of text would be needed to convey the same info in those few seconds of audio.

Actually I bought it because I heard many great things about it from people like Deltia, too bad non of them mentioned the Console issues Because I didn't think ZoS would take essential things out like Text Chat that would make for a better game.
Also because EVERY MMO EVER MADE on a console had Text Chat.
Oh and they were playing on PC.

All the Xbox campaigns on NA are full every night. People go right in at level 10 and never come back out lol.
PVP leveling is a lot slower than PVE leveling.
A lot of trading and bartering in main cities (though prices are still way too high on consoles).
I've managed to get a few PUGs for Craiglorn quests the last few days as people are getting to decent levels there now.
Results will vary a lot between Xbox and PS4. Xbox has had standard voice for 10+ years. The community is much more used to dropping into games and chatting with people on your side (in shooters), or doing PUG style objectives in games like Dying Light and GTA5. My PS4 friends almost never bother to have their mic connected, and never had one in PS3 days.
Consoles aren't dying. of all the people in my guilds, only 4 that I know of have quit. 3 are PC transfers complaining about chat box and add-ons. The 4th went back to Destiny because he is a shooter guy and felt that he couldn't really play endgame in 1st person (too much red ground etc. is hard to deal with in 1st person) and he hates 3rd person games.

In some situations Voice will be better and others KB. They go hand in hand.

I do not disagree, except when people attack voice chat to bolster the need for text chat.
I will point out once again on PC most groups doing end game require TeamSpeak to even join them.
Also if you have rowdy player in voice chat it is up to the leader to tell him to shut up or kick the player.
Both forms of chat are useful or not depending on how they are used.

That however is not the norm for MMORPG's on Consoles. Yes they're use to it because other games don't need it, however MMORPG's are completely different.
If anything Text Chat is highly useful, there's a reason why Deltia utilizes text chat and also Damage Numbers etc... Because it's very useful and very much needed.

Really started picking up the crafting. The one thing really haven't tried out or experienced was the voice chat. And truth is only occasionally do i actually hear someone chatting even in Daggerfall. So maybe its just the starter zones that are fairly quiet, i don't know. I actually think that when I join a guild and a group of like-minded (big statement there) players, the voice chat could be pretty cool. Even if I am just exploring, doing quests, and looking for resources. Can't say what it's like at higher levels and doing veteran content but going to stick with it for now and see how it goes.

I'm not saying text chat isn't useful. Just that the sky isn't falling, and that different audiences will see it different ways.
There is a reason Deltia puts on underpants (probably). I don't see what he does as being relevant to pretty much anything. Just because he uses things doesn't make them needed.
