The console releases have gone down in population since launch I'd say, not up. The major reasoning for that is many console players (including myself) have stopped playing due to the lack of any text chat making a ton of what should be simple things (trading, grouping, guild talking, etc) and absolute nightmare.

Agreed. On ps4 20% of players completed the level 30 main story quest. So I'd guess atleast half the console population has quit.
Everyone I know whos quit their primary complaint was lack of text chat. Im really baffled by what zos is thinking business wise

Goodness. The console version of ESO has been out for less than 3 months, and already the DOOMSAYERS have passed judgment and found ESO wanting.
Same thing happened on the PC/Mac side of ESO this time last year. There were many predictions made that Wildstar would be the leech that drained ESO dry, yet now even Wildstar is embracing a free-to-play model. Boy, what happened there? Meanwhile, ESO continues to chug along nicely on the PC/Mac side and, I suspect, will also continue to see success on the console side of the equation.
The DOOMSAYERS are quite hollow, it seems. Please, if the game bothers the DOOMSAYERS so much, go find a game you can enjoy and leave the rest of the ESO community in (relative) peace.
Thank you.

I'm seeing more and more people in craiglorn, and all 4 of my PVP campaignsare ful levery night.
Also, both consoles had more players at their launches than active PC players... each, They both had 1+ million sales and PC players are pretty much AWOL.
Consoles are also getting new players every day from price drop on game. It is $40 US in alot of places now.
Lack of text chat isn't driving away large numbers of players at all... at least not on Xbox. We have been talking in games on Xbox forever. hasn't even slowed most people down.
Obviously the release hype has died down on console and left us with a more settled community. The two guilds I am in [PS4] one is maxed at 500, the other has 200. Both have 50-60 players on a night. I see 30-50 players in Mournhold where I like to do all my bits and pieces. PvP needs more influx of players or the streamlining of servers as Azurai's Star EU seems to be the only one constantly full for all three factions.
What gives with MMO players on forums? Who just love to say,"RIP" [implant MMO game name here they are all salty about].
They act like some lover has cheated on them or something.?

Only thing i don't like is those who think it's funny to stand in a well used area like the bank, play music and sing to it just to antagonise ppl .. then when asked to mute mic get sworn at and funnily .. told to shutup lol
Mute needs to work better on the xbox version
I noticed livestream broadcast for ESO on PS4 (ps4 live) have dropped from top 10 viewed to the bottom. GTA and Mortal Kombat are back on top which shows what console players are interested in. The trophy for level 50 Character had a shockingly low % like 5% or something. Only a handful of players are bothering to level up/past 50.Obviously the release hype has died down on console and left us with a more settled community. PS4 NA has like 1 full vet server and the rest are "buff" servers where a faction has complete control of the map. I use Skull of Corruption as a buff server (DC) and play on Azura Star, which is like a vet version of Blackwater Blade. The buffs are nice, the 15% exp buff alone is awesome for leveling.
Really odd that 3 out of 4 or so pvp vet servers are dead buff/carebear playgrounds and only 1 is active. Seems like a waste of time and money to keep them running. I mean I love free buffs and all but it's head scratchily stupid.
It is only people with squeaky voices who are asking for text chat. I keep telling them to buy bigger pants, but they don't hear me because they have a keyboard instead of a headset.
