so I'm in a guild that after loosing their trader for a week decided to start charging a 1k weekly donation. not that its expensive or anything but do you all agree that its acceptable or not? to force members to donate or be kicked? this is a trade guild mind you and whatever info anyone leaves here I will use for future guild guidelines if I ever decide to run my guild this way lol..

share knowledge please :)

Its your guild. You can do whatever you want.

Personally if one of my guild leaders said pay 1k or your out I would just leave.

You may end up losing a lot of your members.

Well if they dont have a trader then they are not a trade guild. 1k a week why? I'd leave.

Seems like a fairly common practice on trade guilds to keep up the traders. I've seen numerous ones that do some kind of weekly required donation into a trader fund.

the trader was lost that's why its a new rule. Donate 1k OR participate in the guild events type deal..

Yep I would leave. Now if they wanted to do some kind of raffle for 500g a ticket then yeah but you need to be able to trust who is running raffle.

Personally I think ZoS ruined this whole guild thing with the way it is setup. Also the AH system is worse system I ever seen. ZoS made the game look great but failed on 70% on the rest of the game.

For a trade guild it's perfectly reasonable as long as everyone is given plenty of notice about the new rule. If the guild is able to consistently get good guild trader locations as a result, then everyone in the guild who is a serious trader should be able to get more back out of it than the 1K donation per week. If there are members who don't sell enough stuff for the 1K per week to be worth it to them, then they should be given a couple of weeks for their current listings to have a chance to sell, and then they can find a different guild to sell their stuff in.

Sounds like the guild has inactive members.

Most bigger guilds get by on the 3% cut and raffles.

1k a week is a tiny amount. If you like the guild stay and pay.

On ps4 the market is dropping quickly as items become alot less rare. Ive noticed pc transfers in my guild selling off stacks of 100 gold crafting mats by the boatload lately.

I was invited to a guild which requested a bank deposit of 500 gold daily. This came after losing a bid to open a store (I think, or trading, can't remember).

I accepted the invite to be polite, but after the player left the screen, I left.

When I hear horror stories of players/owners clearing out bank items and leaving guild members hanging, I'm not all too comfortable depositing any money into a guild.

Now, if I'm given responsibility where I'm more than a gold farmer, I'll gladly contribute part of the 200,000+ gold I have in my personal bank, but I sure won't just give it away on someone's word.

True. I try to have everyone participate in guild events versus forcing people contribute like that. At least then they have a chance of getting something out there money other than a trader ( sounds greedy I know but that's how some ppl think ) as well as inform them that the gold they spend on raffles goes straight to trader funds. I gather mats myself so I earn my keep rather than skimming off the guild funds lol..just frustrating ya know

You'd be better off doing an optional 50/50 guild raffle in order to get gold to buy a trader.

On ps4 the market is dropping quickly as items become alot less rare.

Same on XBOX. The price of dwemer motifs dropped about 66% across the world over the course of about 10 days, give or take (anecdotally, of course). A vast majority of players got to the point where they could start collecting them, but those people also couldn't actually use them, so they all flooded the market.

The Trade guild's I'm in typically require x amount of sales to be kept up / week and they do raffles and auctions to raise money for the trader. :)

I'd rather pay 1,000 gold or whatever a week as an investment than deal with anyone who uses "raffle" because it somehow sounds more justifiable than "lottery."

I've never been a fan of forced donations, but I sure can see why some GM's decide to do it.

No money = No guild trader = No sales = No members = No trading guild

Allthough, you should pay attention to the deposit/withdrawals history tab. If the GM withdraws money for his own pockets you should definitely find an honest trading guild instead.

Uh no not at all IMO that a guild master demands anything from there soldiers well that isn't including guild pride . It's poor leadership and just makes them a down right good for nothing horking skeever.

And this is coming from a player who isn't in any guilds at all. And before any one ask why I'm not in any I like to roam around and do what I want with out having to report to a capt'n or something every time I log on.

If you're going to make people force to pay to stay in the guild, lots of people are going to leave.

I love the idea of a raffle, though it'll be difficult to pull off.

Perhaps you could do the prize draw on a livestream?

i havent done it. i am in a trade guild that just started this new rule. and since i run my own trade guild i just wanted seasoned players insight on whether or not it sounds appealing or not..which i found my answer lol

my next question is do you guys think it is an acceptable requirement to have members update their notes with a weekly word to weed out inactives keep in mind i play XB1 and do not have addons to see these types of things lol

personally I would not and will never "donate" money to a guild simply so a GM can bid an insane amount for a guild vendor ... its the guild bidding system that is stupidly inflated by stupid GMs overbidding. Serves no purpose other than removing currency from the in-game economy.

    Just my overly opinionated opinion.

Of the 4 trading guilds I am in, only one asks for voluntary donations, if it is compulsory I leave as will many others. Two others run very active raffles for a large boost to guild funds in addition to the commissions on guild store sales.

The trade guild I'm in, and others that I know of/was in that have prime Guild Traders (Rawl) all charge a weekly fee, or at least a weekly sales minium. It's not unreasonable to go with one or the other. To hire a guild trader costs millions, even hundreds of millions, of gold (in good spots). Which cannot be funded by the GM alone.

If you sell 'x' amount of items that makes the guild 'x' amount of money that week you do not have to pay. If you do not make 'x' amount of money for the guild that week you may pay the weekly fee or risk being kicked. I actually like that rule. It makes it so everyone in the guild is at least semi-active. Which makes for a great Guild Store.

two totally different things .. I am totally in support of trading guild members having to prove ongoing sales activity to a minimal level
