Vet Ranks and Champion Points - What's your opinion?

I never understood the need of Veteran Ranks anyway, because essentially they were just levels beyond 50. Now we're at Vet 14 with Vet 16 on our doorsteps along with a huge 'materials gate' for 16 gear. And to what use? I sincerely hope this will be the last cap raising we will see and that ZOS will abolish them altogether in the near past.

I listen Zen. Sure two vision collide, but its Zen's choice ultimately.

But they aren't making the game for their own amusement. I think a lot of people forget that these developers are trying to make games that many people will play. These players paid money for it, and continue to support the development through crowns. That should mean something. Customers should be their first priority, and by listening to the community before adding things in blindly, the game can move in a direction where the majority wants it to be.

Few players like and enjoy the VR grind. Lets face it, it doesn't add anything fresh to the game. It makes it feel stale. You just did the same stuff for your faction. Here we go again... lets do it all over, but for another faction. That is not end-game content. That is a lazy mans way of re-hashing content instead of actually making something which is lasting and satisfies. Removing vet levels would at least remove some separation from the lower players. I.e give the ones who did level vr a reward of some sort, to make the time invested worth while. For instance, a cash in system for each VR level. For each VR yield more cash-in reward. 25CP pr VR exponentially increased. (just a poor example, but I'm sure something of substance could be worked out).

Cross-faction dungeon, raids and world-map could also break down these barriers even further. It would make que with LFG tool go a lot quicker. It would populate the world more. Expanding even further by allowing us to duel. Have zones where factions can world pvp in the regular world while questing, if they so desire to quest there (world pvp was something many loved in other MMOs). Allow us to have smaller scale PvP in competitive settings. Allow us to choose how we level through questing, grinding or other means. DSA is a step in the right direction. More content like this for lower levels would be amazing. To be able to level up in such settings could be a lot of fun! Making it randomised could make it last longer. Having leaderboards for waves / difficulty etc. There are many ways to approach these things.

Frankly, people just want more ways to play the game, and not get forced into this twisted, long, quest grind. It was fun the first 1-20 levels, but then you realise every quest is ultimately the same, and it is boring. Plain and simple. Most people play these games for end-game, but the low levels. All I'm trying to do is push some ideas to get the ball rolling.

It's too early for me to judge the Vet & CP system, but I quite like how it is, although a little catch-up on CP would be quite cool.

You want VR system to be removed?
You're too lazy to complete Cadwell Silver and Gold, yet you complain on "lack of content". The question is: Why have you chosen to play MMORPG at all? (Not to mention how VR removal would cause balance issues and wipe of established VR1-14 crafting materials/system).

You want CP system to be removed?
You're too lazy to move your buttock and do some ingame activity that will grant you CPs. Yet you want to claim for free what other people earned as much as you want to take it back from them even though you're the one that didn't do anything to have more? Seriously, better go eat some pizza in front of your TV.

Not got a problem with it. Like them both.

My gripe is pc players posting to console and having a huge CP advantage over us. But that's a different issue.

If all consoles started at scratch like we did, and no pc ported, the system would be fine.

I don't villanize 8hour/day players, I just think that in a game designed for thousands of players, privileging 1 segment of the population (the ultra hardcore) over everyone else with a very high power differential is not good for the game.

I think those ultra hardcore people are great, I'm glad they exist as many of them are super knowledgeable, great teammates and leaders, etc. it just doesn't make sense to me that in pvp, if you play 8 hours a day you can eventually make it so that any fight with a casual player is extremely unbalanced, outside of skill.

Even take me for example, I play 1-2 hours a day usually and I definitely don't need an advantage in pvp over newer players. I'm fairly skilled and have decent gear - I don't really want to beat those more casual players on the basis that Ive got way more cp - I think that is cheap.

However, I will continue to do what I can to earn and spend cp cause there are people running around with 1-4x what I have, and not using my cp to be fair to new players would severely gimp me.

Too much to think about - just want balance and fun for all denizens of Tamriel.

To quote myself, I just wanted to clarify that I do in fact like the cp system, and that the seasonal cap they are proposing (assuming it's within reach for more casual players) will basically address my concerns. I think some power gap to represent time played is great, but only to a point, say, what a new player can achieve in 3 months of 2-3 hours a day. If you can only close that gap with a gajillion hours, that's the problem

It really doesn't matter. Zos does not get it. With the release of CP and removal of VR they admitted failure of their design.

After that they failed to follow through and have left us with a bigger mess and just keep adding it it. It's why this game doesn't stack up to expectations let alone compare to the top competition. Hopefully we will see improvement after a few more top devs are shown the door.
