Hello everyone. I have been playing ESO since beta and one thing that bugs me is how we can't learn every single skill in the game unless we make alts. Of course, I am referring to the fact that players are locked into a specific class since the beginning of the game. This I would say directly goes against one of the most defining aspects of Elder Scrolls series, which alows players to experience all a game has to offer in a single character. I have played both Oblivion and Skyrim, and they allowed me to train every single skill, so why is it that the same can't be done in ESO?
I realize that mixing and matching skills from 2 or more classes could present balance issues, so why not make them mutually exclusive? Meaning, allow players access to every single class skill tree in the game, but if they equipped say a Dragonknight skill on one of their hotbars, then they would not be able to equip skills from other classes unless they replaced that Dragonknight skill. This would allow for maximum customization while still retaining class uniqueness and preserving class balance. Also, min/maxers that already have one of each class at max level would still have much use for their alts due to champion points and racials.
What do you all think?

Then the gear juggling...
Then the time you need to play to -actually- max the skills to morph-IV (hint - usually I do the last class skill well into cadwells gold)
Nah, there are games where candoitall characters might work, but ESO would need to be redesigned from scratch for that to be viable here. And they won't do that.
Doubly not since making people make alts makes them need more gametime, makes ZoS have more people playing, paying and still discovering new things, instead of taking one character to max level and then dropping the game since now they can see it all.

This would result in every min/maxer choosing the same 5 skills because those are the ones that are most powerfull. They would also all be wearing the same gear and hit with 25k dps.
Not my preferance.

But at least it would be about skill at that point.

People always say this.
It would result in lots of people copying builds just like they do now, however, given the variety of skills, it is easy to create counter-builds. It would create a constantly changing scene of FOTM in my opinion.

And it would make them happy so cool.
The other thing that it would allow would be really creative synergy combinations from a couple of players working together.
In my case it would also allow for every single character to have a familiar. Yippie!

In PVP yes, in PVE we would all just burn through enemies like paper (and we're almost doing that as it is now).
