About 3 weeks ago someone posted a graph in a thread showing about a 5% increase in power from 360-3000. Anyone have a link for that?

That's honestly a lot of where the, "thousands of CP" arguments are coming from. People with the first 300 or so have a significant advantage over nothing.

Right, an advantage over nothing. Except that the greatest disparity will be between those with 0 and those with the first 500

LOL.. asks for where a post is... finds it... doesn't post the link now that our interest has been piqued.

    Classic.

And zos thinks a CP cap will stop those players who already have 1000+ CP stop using them :/. The whole cap thing is only allowing the 3rd place guy catch up to the 2nd place guy not the 1st place guy where the real problem is at.

    The cap thing is
And zos thinks a CP cap will stop those players who already have 1000+ CP stop using them :/. The whole cap thing is only allowing the 3rd place guy catch up to the 2nd place guy not the 1st place guy where the real problem is at.

The seasonal cap is just an attempt to try and stop current players from complaining. It doesn't help anyone who intends to join the game after it's implemented because the grind is super long. Since they're not going to remove it, they need to significantly decrease the amount of champion points available permanently. Problem is, people have already surpassed what a reasonable cap would be. So limiting the champion points system now would just *** of a bunch of people. The champion system should've been designed to either enhance a character's strength or cover it's weakness. Instead it does both and then some.

Right now, in it's current form, the champion system is just a disgusting example of power creep.

    .. or did I miss satire ? ... or even a troll ?

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Its full of crap. Just check it yourself, 100 points in one slot gives 25% extra, with 900 points you can max for example, Piercing, Mighty, and Precise Strikes, thats sick advantage, 25% more physical dmg, crits does 25% more dmg, and Armor Piercing is 25% more effective. How people can say thats nothing is something I dont get. Even more reasons why we need catch-up system. And lets it throw it out, 900 CP, for average joe, who makes 1 CP per day is almost 3 year, even if you're true no-lifer can do 3 CP per day, thats 1 year of playing.

Well first 300 CP gives you HUGE bust in your dps, second 300 gives you like 20% from first 300 CP, after 600 CP you dps increas is so litle that it is very hard to notice, for example on my mage DK putting 100 points in spell erosion gived me 137 more damage on my whip in SO, 137 damage increas for 300 CP gained, that is just nothing

You are simply wrong. I suggest you go do some testing on the pts.
The numbers are never wrong and the tests were already made (which I'd prefer instead of unthinkingly repeating other people's guess-based opinions).

    Character Power vs CP invested:

    The initial statements were:
    • Characters get overwhelming majority of their CP-related power around 300-360 CP (all 3 color-trees with 100CP+ each)
    • Therefore only the first 300-360 CPs are dead-crucial to get the most benefit
    • Therefore additional CP above 300-360CP threshold are not really that important

    I. Blue Trees - DPS output:

For purpose of this test we're maxing:
    1) Main DPS boosting CP: Thaumaturge (for +25% damage output at 100CP invested)
    2) Staff Expert afterwards for Staff-weaving (after reaching 100CP above)
    3) Spell Erosion afterwards for additional damage bonus (abv.)

(Note: The test-character is a Magicka Nightblade with ca. 2000 Spell Damage and ca. 35000 Magicka)

    Funnel Health with Staff-weaving output:

Full DPS rotation with Staff-weaving output:

II. Red Trees - Damage Mitigation and Utility:

For purpose of this test we're maxing:
    1) Main DPS mitigating CP: Elemental Defender (for Elemental DMG) or Hardy (for Magicka/Poison)
    2) Secondary DPS mitigating CP: Spell Shield (after reaching 100CP for max of -25% bonus).

(Note: The character is 5/1/1 Light/Medium/Heavy build, ca. 10k Spell Resistance and getting hit by Concealed Weapon using mirror character; 50% Spell Crit)

    xzFbZB5.jpg

III. Green Trees - Cost Reduction and Regeneration:

For purpose of this test we're maxing:
    1) Main Cost Reduction CP: Magician (for -25% bonus, maxed)
    2) Main Stat Regenetaion CP: Arcanist (for +25 bonus, maxed and assuming this is needed at all)

(Note: The spell of choice was Sap Essence; two Cost Reduction enchantments on jewerly)

    wuyBGCq.jpg

    IV. Conclusion:
    • You're getting the most benefits up to 300-360 CP.
    • All CP above mentioned threshold give mostly a slight increase in character's power - be it +300CP or +900CP.

    V. Additional comments related to discussion:
    • Unexperienced/casual player is not likely be saved by the bonuses granted above 300-360CP threshold alone (Player Skill > Character Power).
    • Unexperienced/casual player is likely be saved by having the very first 300-360CP passive bonuses unlocked.
    • Unexperienced/casual players will eventually reach 300-360CPs (possible by September/October 2015 by using enlightenment pool only).
    • Obviously, different character setups would focus on different CP passives, thus provide different feedback. The reason for the charts is to provide general visual feedback for CP-amount invested versus Power Gained curves progress.
Thank you for your time!

    There you go.
