When winning is so easy, why would you play anything else?

Yet, I haven't died to one magicka sorcerer without it being a 2-3 minute fight. I've died to stamina NBs, Stamina DKS, stamina Templars in under 15 seconds tons of times.. Go figure.

I'm surprised they didn't make the sorc class shield scale with health like temp and DKs. They may need buffs elsewhere to provide more survivability, but stacking one stat for both high defense and high offense is and has been the problem. It also makes getting stamina sorcs to the needed sweet spot that much harder for them.

With the increased TTK on PTS, there's more reaction time and less burst, which means shield stacking is that much stronger unfortunately. I'm curious to see if this meta ends up making it to live or if they have enough time to fix it.

Healing ward is bugged right now by the way and providing way too much shielding. Many sorc in IC are taking advantage of this.

Go on pts, make a sorc and see how easy it is to play one.
Shields are strong 1v1 but they melt quicker than you can recast them in 1vX.
Stacking Hardened Ward and Harness Magicka doesnt help very much against stam builds either.
And without streak you're like a free AP/TV bag running around, not to mention streak doesnt work during lag spikes.

I know the class well. The better one knows the class the better you can be fighting against that class. When I am not on my sorc and playing with my dk, temp, or nb I have no trouble killing sorcs. The more experience you get with the classes the easier it will be for you to kill them. Knowledge is power in the game and I was not screaming l2p. I actually rolled my eyes lol and thought another player got killed by a certain class screaming nerf.

Exactly and with all these gold gear sets free on creation.. Why not get to know your enemies and learn how it feels to play in their shoes.. I also have each class. I do not want anyone nerfed. But when you understand every class's oh crap moments you also learn how to put them there...

So my suggestion to everyone.. Go play your nemesis with a free VR14 and gold gear set. Learn how to counter them.

I still dunno if the OP is kidding or drunk, but I notice practically everyone who has hissy fits and cries nerf on sorcs' core abilities also refuses to learn the counters. They seem to believe they deserve to kill sorcs all the time, and when they don't they can't face life, I guess. The weird thing is it can't be that they never kill sorcs cuz sorcs die in PvP all the time. lol

You're not exactly wrong, but this is one of the least compelling arguments I've read. I feel like you banged it out on the keyboard 2 minutes after losing a fight.

I've had similar frustrating experiences, but if I was going to start a thread about it I would provide some of the following data:

My damage output. - How much damage did his shields actually absorb before he went on the offense?

His damage output. - What did your recap say?

In general I agree (and theorized it in General Discussion before the PTS) that the reduced TTK was going to far outweight the reduction in shield strength because of the much higher pool of resources that those stacking builds use. On live, the rate of damage may exceed the rate of self-heal/damage absorbtion - but the total resource pool supports much more total absorbtion and healing than damage.

EXAMPLE:

On live when dueling (not a gank) against a bubble stacking build I can simply burn through their shields faster than they can reapply them to kill them with my burst DPS build (the highest burst I know of)....

However on PTS I cannot defeat the same builds. I am still depleting their shields and self-healing at a faster rate than they are applying it BUT I run out of resources before they are killed and they still have excess resources left.

This is due to the global reduction in damage that effectively requires twice as many ability uses as before for the same damage. The bubble sorcs also have reductions that effectively require them to cast twice as many heals/bubbles as before...but because of their much larger resource pool that gives them a clear advantage.

Having said that, the best policy with a bubble sorc is simply to not fight them. Let them bounce up and down while blocking sitting alone in their rooms yelling "Come at me bro" at their monitors while you walk away shaking your head. They are no threat unless you essentially suicide yourself against them.

I find it hilarious how almost everybody in this thread and these types of threads in general are trying to justify sorcs still being broken and OP as hell by saying either "L2P" or "play a stamina class because there's no way you can a kill a shield stacking magicka sorc as a non-sorc magicka class".

I like balance.. If all the stamina users need cloth defenses dropped I say its time to face this.. Either stamina needs less DPS and more survivability or magicka needs more dps and less survivability.

BTW, Im playing a stamina char come late August.

To be honest, having a shield that you can repeatedly spam on yourself to mitigate dmg, it wouldn't matter what it scales off of, any class would be OP having this type of shield; maybe templars & dk's most of all (if it scaled off health)
