Insane grind for Glass motif?

Am I understand this correctly?

The only way to get the glass motif is by receiving motif page fragments as WRIT rewards?

" These Chapters have been torn into unreadable Fragments by the ravages of time and travel, but can occasionally be found slipped into the Writ rewards for Blacksmiths, Clothiers, and Woodworkers." - From Patch Notes

It requires 10 fragments to get 1 page.

There are 20 pages to a full set/ 20 items available to craft.

So, if you were the luckiest person in the game and got a reward EVERY SINGLE DAY for your writ, it would take you 200 DAYS of doing them every single day to craft this racial style.

TWO.....HUNDRED....DAYS.

But that's if you get a fragment every day as a reward. But according to the patch notes they can only "OCCASSIONALY" be found in the writ rewards.

Please tell me I'm missing something and there is some other way to farm these or acquire them through regular play.

I'm pretty sure they will be tradeable... so people will sell them.....

    Like me...

    And make a healthy profit!

And then just use my crowns from the sub to buy the motif in the crown store in a couple of months, whilst I have enjoyed actually playing the game rather than this absolutely insane grind! ;)

Not that I agree with the mechanic but a few things to add.

3 crafting writs per toon. 8 toons per account means 24 chances per day if you max out your account on writs. That's less than 10 days if you got one in each writ (which is obviously not going to happen). One per toon per day is still "only" a month.

I also don't know all the details but are they tradable in any way? One can take a pile of gold and just go buy any missing Dwemer motifs. Is it similar for Glass motifs? Things that are ultra rare but are tradable tend to have a higher level of access than more common items that are bind on pickup.

I'm sure I read that the fragments are tradeable... but once you have glued that into a page then it becomes bound.

I dont know what I'm going to do :) But I know, that I need this motif.
As a Thalmor fan, glass armor is my favorite armor and I always loved the look of it and I'm glad, they mostly keep the design of Skyrim's glass armor, if not much better than Skyrim.

I'm not into such things. But I think, I will do what I can to get this Motif by myself as soon as possible. I will even wreck my pet build to make 7 pieces of crafted armor to make it full glass <3

    Trinimac my ward,
    and Magnus my mind.

I don't understand people who basically decide something is alright, reasonable, balanced, or good....simply because they personally found a way to profit from it or found an exemption to it :-/

I think I may have read the same thing, but I really hope it's the other way around. I get that people should have to do their own writs to get the fragments as writ reward boxes are bound to character already. If I get a random page for gluing the fragments together and it's bound, it's near useless if I already have it and that produces a negative player feeling. Binding the fragments and making the pages unbound creates an economy and doesn't produce the negative player feeling when you get a bound duplicate. I'm no designer, but I'd have to have a pretty good game balance reason to make the pages bound if they could just as easily be unbound. Why create a negative experience for "reasons" when you don't have to?

I think that's the Malachite you need to make the armor, not the pages.

I didn't say at all I think its 'alright, reasonable, balanced, or good'.

I agree with you 100%, hence my comment about it being an "Absolutely insane grind".

Along with the other huge grinds IC is introducing.

All I was saying is that this is one grind that I personally don't feel is worth it. I do the writs anyway, but have spare crowns from my sub without having to buy more, so will just use them when its in crown store. I can sell any fragments aI get.. and yes... profit.
