So, dying in the sewers requires you to respawn outside of the city. That's cute.

If you die in the sewers when there's another player nearby you're thrown out of the IC entirely. I'm not sure if that's intended behavior or not.

So you need to walk all the way back in past the jokers who are ganking players at your sewer entrance again.

That can't be intended. Any death in the Sewers should respawn you at your Alliance Base.

I died in the sewers a bunch, and it just re spawned me at my alliance home base.

This was with a hostile player near me. Sort of like how delves in cyrodiil work now. If no one else is in there, it lets you respawn normally. But from the outer Pact sewer it wanted to send me to a keep.

Pressing E lets you respawn at a friendly keep.
Pressing R respawns you at your alliance base.

R was labeled as "Release." Not, "RTB," not "Respawn," not "wayshrine," just "release" with no clarification or (as I recall, any tooltip explaining it.)

It's good to know; but that is some terrible communication by the UI.
