beside that saying the NA server is flooded by the UK as 90+% of the guild names are english is as unrealistic as your assumption.

I've not met any American's who speak or write English!

Look what you've done, OP. Bring up Germans, and the Eurotrash floods in. See above.

    EU-Population: ~ 507,000,000 + swiss ~8,000,000 =~ 515,000,000
    Germany: ~ 81,000,000
    Austria: ~ 8,500,000
    Swiss ~ 8,000,000

    = ~ 97,500,000
A pretty well-known fact is that German is the native languages of the so called DACH countries which are Deutschland / Germany (D), Österreich / Austria (A) and die Schweiz / Switzerland (CH).

A little less known is that German is also spoken either as a mother tongue or as a minority language across Europe. This includes Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, Eastern Belgium, Eastern France (namely Elsass, Lothringen) and South Tyrol / Südtirol (northern Italy).

It is also spoken in former parts of Germany that were lost after the second World War and are now parts of Eastern European countries, most notably Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Other countries include Romania, Hungary, Kazakhstan and Russia. The same is true for Namibia, a former colony, where German is a so called national language.

If you have also in mind that Germany is one of the richest countries in Europe, where people have the time to play MMOs, you can see that a population of ~ 30-35% be-able-to speak german ingame isn't unrealistic.

38 from 144 isn't in my eyes 60 percent; at least at the time I went to school....
It is indeed the reflection of the above numbers if you have in mind that some german have multiple guilds founded.

So: what did we find out? Germans play games.... :p

    Germans like video-games?

Germans are good at lock-step social MMO situations?

    Germans do good beer?

Because the only people that can play without lag are germans, since they are close to the megaserver?
Will I be able to forget all the wounds that pierce my flesh?
You and your childish justice. I'll rip it to pieces.
Come on, it's showtime. A rain of blood like a volcano
And now I'll blow all of you and you and you...
All to tiny pieces. All to tiny pieces.

Germany is in the EU, hence why German players are playing on the EU servers, as well as people from many other countries..

I am from Germany. What are you dreaming of? :p I don't play lagfree even though I have a decent connection and live around only 100 km away from the server location. Maybe the routing goes <mylocation>-Wladiwostock-London-Chicago-Mars-NSA Central-Frankfurt.......

Well, but ofc the Server is in Frankfurt as it is a really big Internet point and in the middle of the EU...
I think many problems have nothing to do with connection, more with bad program code and too few server capacity. I play totaly lagfree if nearly noone is online, but in cities with many people around online and many instanced objects i sometimes get a Diashow. The Program/Server can't handle it.

So, too many germans speak geman, too many german guilds exist and germans live too near to the server in Germany... what else? :p

It's funny because you can't write in English either.

I recently switched megaservers (from EU to US) because the lack of grouping options and because I was fed up with the "francais?" "deutsch?". I never choose EU server again. I wasted so many time choosing the wrong server. I made this bad choice sometimes in other MMO's as well. If you read this listen to my advice: don't make the same mistake or if you did maybe it's not too late to switch. With the next update VR lvl's are easier to achieve and we have xp potions now so...

Hm, i can speak a bit french, english, spanish, russian and italian, and i like the different people. Normally people switch if necessary to english cause it is the language most people could more or less understand. Especially many germans can speak english. The text chat in region is up to 80% in english. Sure not everyone could talk english or feels comfortable with it.

I don't know if this above is just a joke (seems to me), but if many British are this way it maybe wise to Brexit. For a continent with different nationalities, identities, traditions and languages you need at least a little bit of tolerance.

I for myself noticed more or less often that a number of British seems to be upset that not everyone is from Britain or speaks english.Makes me ever wonder. Especially as english is on the continent a minor language. French and spanish are more native spoken, also german and ofc russian. It's just a business language and a common factor for people from different countries to talk with each other. Not more, not less. *wondering*

Really? That's amazing! How many people are there in Germany as a whole (82,652,256 as of 7/1/2014 as far as I can tell). That's about 1/4 of the US population. Just how many Germans are playing ESO!

    just curious

it looks like 60% of all eu players - germans
look for example on the list of all guilds with traders
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Qd3wyeS1l_uaOg5OElhNtRhwakkVoL_6_vTMFz6i5DE/edit?usp=sharing

144 guilds - 38 german guilds... and there can be more, some of german guilds can pretend and take english title :o

    Here's a wild guess,

    Germany is in Europe.
