I wish I had read a thread about this previously but I didn't, so I'm going to try and help the other "new" players. Spending the skill point in the passives for mages guild (persuade) and fighters guild (intimidate) is a good idea if you enjoy the quests. I JUST (level 31) spent the skill points and have found that after using these passive skills while talking to NPC's, I've received additional quests, buffs, or stories while exploring Tamriel.

These skill won't actually give you additional content (quests) however they normally let you skip some of the tedious tasks like "gather 10 items" or give you information/access on secret entrances/buffs to help you through the quests.

There are some very interesting and fun choices due to these as well, just be aware some of the intimidate options are pretty mean.

There's also at least one case where the Intimidate option results in a bad ending for the quest. Though, that's more of an outlier.

Ah, okay. I gotcha. I thought I got an extra quest for using intimidate in zone 4 of AD (had to find some kajilit husband that had ventured off and got lost on moon sugar (or whatever it is called)).

Yeah, it's pretty much there to skip stuff. You really gain nothing from having it, except for when you can rob certain merchants in the world.

Yeah Ive been avoiding putting a point in just to slay more monsters. Some of the early quests are tedious though

Sometimes Persuade and/or Intimidate is the only way to get past a particular stage in a quest without spending gold... I like them a lot for that :)

Those were my fourth and fifth skill point expenditures.

I love conversation options an wish there were more.

They are sneaky sometimes and dont put the persuade option at the top. So if you skip the text you'll miss the option

Yeah, it's annoying when you don't have the skill spent, and a guy says he'll only give information to you if you help his wife... with intimidate, I can leave his wife to die and just progress the quest.

Yeah. but who would really want the guys wife to die (of course depending upon the context of what had happened).

Also, isn't it true that different choices we makes as players doing quests, could lead to different rewards?
