As you may or may not know, the Imperial City update is bringing with it an option to increase your character's bag space and additional 30 slots, from 110 to 140. Here is the gold cost for each upgrade, and the total cost of all bag upgrades.
  • 70 Slots [400 Gold]
  • 80 Slots [2,000 Gold]
  • 90 Slots [5,900 Gold]
  • 100 Slots [11,000 Gold]
  • 110 Slots [19,200 Gold]
  • 120 Slots [30,700 Gold]
  • 130 Slots [46,000 Gold]
  • 140 Slots [64,500 Gold]

Total cost for 140 bag slots = 179,700 Gold

NOTE: The increase to bag space is going to be made available to all players, not just those who have access to the Imperial City DLC.

To be honest, I would be a lot more excited if they had increased the maximum amount of bank space you could buy rather than bag space, but this isn't bad either.

I'm glad they're giving us more space. Personally, I don't think it's needed, but it is definitely always nice.
And thank you for crunching the numbers.

no idea why the costs are the way they are. Its cheaper to upgrade your mount at 80+

I've always pondered why the costs are what they are...same with the bank slots.

It's much cheaper to upgrade your horse, but it also takes much longer. It's a trade-off. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from doing both... I've got 8 characters with 170 inventory slots each...

yeah they can't increase the horse carrying weight because it would breach animal cruelty regulations

Everyone knows the phenomenon of trying to hold your breath underwater - how at first it's alright and you can handle it, and then as it gets closer and closer to the time when you must breathe, how urgent the need becomes, the lust and the hunger to breathe. And then the panic sets in when you begin to think that you won't be able to breathe - and finally, when you take in air and the anxiety subsides...that's what it's like to be a vampire and need blood.

Gold sinks, that's the only reason.

Take away the need to upgrade your carrying capacity, and there's not much to spend money on.

I'm actually quite glad. It's a little bit of a peeve that maximum bag space is at 170 (because170 just looks unfinished....). Turning it to 200 is now a great, wonderful and beautiful whole number. I can now rest in peace

What annoys me is that I have bought the best available bag space and the bag vendor keeps complaining about the quality of my bag !!!

seriously, you sold it to me mate !!

You can easily make alts for infinite bank space. I suppose I should be adding more bag space over speed on my mount though. Well it's something.

I still wish they'd done a weight inventory system, with us able to buy more pounds. I miss being able to carry all alchemy ingredients at once.

In previous games, you could buy a cart for your horse. While horse inventory was separate, it was possible to go to a dungeon entrance and shift items from inventory to horse cart for later processing.

    • 130 Slots [46,000 Gold]

Total cost for 140 bag slots = 179,700 Gold

NOTE: The increase to bag space is going to be made available to all players, not just those who have access to the Imperial City DLC.

How has this been implemented in the game? Apparently your post was written with information prior to the actual release of the Imperial City DLC pack.

That is, my character currently has 90 bag spaces. According to your chart, it will cost 11,000 GP to upgrade to 100 bag spaces. I don't believe that is the case, though. If memory serves, the bag merchants want 4500 GP to upgrade the current 90 spaces.

Or maybe they want 4500 GP to upgrade the bag space for my other character who currently has 80 spaces.

Regardless, they do not disclose how many additional spaces that either character will have if I buy it.

The bank currently wants 37,500 GP to upgrade my bank spaces, currently at 130. But the offer does not disclose either how many spaces will be added, or the total that I will have, if I buy the upgrade.
