in guild wars i have a vampire gear set that turns you in a mist-form (when your health falls below 10% health) to escape death for 5 seconds. saved my life more than on one occasion.
their armor sets need to be about utility/special procs to add diversity and flare to the game. horizontal progression is what makes gaming fun in my opinion. Vertical progression is just a treadmill that constantly needs re-balancing...

WRT look of the sets, I think the gear in the game looks amazing and having dye is a great way to customize it even further. No problem there whatsoever I love it.
I just don't feel like anything different is happening on my character when I have a 5 piece and 4 piece set equipped as compared to just having random gear...
