Gear is boring

Fizzmopper
The crafted set bonuses are pretty weak, especially the 5 piece.

Why not instead of having +% to regen or etc, they modify some abilities for specific classes? This would bring a lot more flavor into the game and allow you to make builds around gear and vice versa.

Anyone else feel the gear is pretty underwhelming?

Ugh. I'd rather not have class gear.

A lot of sets do useful things. Some, not so much.

There are set for certain classes. Try looking a big list with all the sets, you should find something that you like.

Spell and weapon damage bonus is lower 123 (171) then the current sets in game, will those set scale down to when patch goes live?

@Fizzmopper i like the sets, if you see the whole list (dbs exist online) I am positive you will find something cool. Also certain sets favor certain classes (i.e. Sun Set for DK, Night's silence for NB, etc.) so there alrdy is some correlation there...

@pdebie64b16_ESO ZOS lowered dmg bonuses across the board on sets (in patch notes) and it seems they intend to keep that for live... imho their way of trying to get around ppl stacking dmg and opening it up for other gear combos to be competitive. A good example is that the Nerineth set is now buffed and i think it will be competitive w/skoria... probaly still not as good but not as big of a difference.
I only came to melt faces; I leave the whining to the rest of you.

    Boring and bland looking.

Hey, where did you get those clothes? At the toilet store?

I have to disagree with you there. The race/style armors are quite in line with TES lore. They added unique boss armor sets which are definitely unique and add more flare. You also have the dye station to further enhance the way armor looks, and if that's not enough you have various costumes you can wear.

I just really wish they would add more unique items, such as the masters weapons that alter skills/abilities.

ESO is too reliant on item sets, and adding a little variety/options would be very welcome.

There are currently 146 looted and crafted sets in ESO, which is shortly to be increased to ~170. If you can't find something you like out of 170 sets, well, I don't know what to tell you.

in guild wars i have a vampire gear set that turns you in a mist-form (when your health falls below 10% health) to escape death for 5 seconds. saved my life more than on one occasion.

their armor sets need to be about utility/special procs to add diversity and flare to the game. horizontal progression is what makes gaming fun in my opinion. Vertical progression is just a treadmill that constantly needs re-balancing...

Vampires already have mist form in ESO, and there are already two sets in ESO that turn you to stone when you die, then bring you back to life a few seconds later instead of having to use a soul gem or wayshrine. One of them even has a nice AoE when you are resurrected.

All of the set bonuses that I have seen are just glorified passives. Maybe I haven't seen them all and there are some cool things out there still to discover, but none seem to be game or ability changing.

WRT look of the sets, I think the gear in the game looks amazing and having dye is a great way to customize it even further. No problem there whatsoever I love it.

I just don't feel like anything different is happening on my character when I have a 5 piece and 4 piece set equipped as compared to just having random gear...

You aren't looking hard enough. I've seen sets like the necromancer set that instantly gives you health and magic I think for every dead body around you. Talk about not running out of resources and always getting healed while in battle. And I just started really digging into set gear. I rock 3 necro and 3 covenant, gives I'm a huge boost in regen, and huge boost in damage resistance. And I notice it while in battle a lot, managing my resources is a lot easier now. Wish te necro was heavy instead of light so I would rock all 5 pieces to get that huge resource and health boost while in battle

    Except only ~30 will.be available at VR15/16

Leveling sets serve no purpose as you only use them for what, 3-4 hours tops? Hwn they become.irrelevant.

Also, out of the 30 sets, you'll only have 10 that apply to your role, and maybe 2-3 that apply to your build/playstyle.

    So much for variety eh?
