Hi everyone,

Please use this thread for all Imperial Districts feedback, bugs, and suggestions. The Dev Team will be keeping a close eye on this discussion. We're especially interested in hearing how fighting and combat has been in the Imperial Districts, both PVE and PVP, and what districts you've enjoyed most and why. Also, we'd like to know how many Trophy Vault items you have gotten while fighting in the Imperial Districts, what type, and how long it took you to get them.

Thanks for helping us test the Imperial Districts!

I would love to test this area, but with a pop-locked server, the lag is so intense that it is physically impossible for me to do so.

Not liking the sewer exits to get into city. Players don't load all at same time and enemy spawns are right beside entrance/exits. Groups camping just waiting for unprotected players to pop up one and a time sometimes. Bad design.

Is there a way to teleport directly to an Armory table once discovered? I didn't seem able to do that.

Unless someone can correct me, it's highly dangerous to reach the new set crafting tables. I do not belong to any guilds for the alliance of my crafter, prior to IC that wasn't an issue because the only requirement to reach the various set tables was merely to be past level 50.

I spent 2 hours today trying to reach all the set crafting tables and people waited outside each entrance to gank. I love PvP with the appropriate characters, but come on, this is way too hardcore for even my tastes.

Willing to buy alliance transfer option for my crafter *sigh*

Went to the sewers main base for EP. Went up the ladder for the first quest. Crashed as soon as I loaded into the city streets. Now every time I log in to that character I crash.

I don't think that's likely. If old vendors are scaled up to VR16, that trivialises the rewards from the scaled dungeons and IC.

I am having a bit of troubles getting back to my faction's base from the districts.

Getting into the districts is easy enough with the ladders in the base.

Am I correct in thinking that the way back has to go through the sewers ?
There doesn't seem to be a way back using similar ladders ?

I believe so. I haven't heard of a way to get back with the ladders; this is probably so travelling between the districts and base isn't trivial. You can buy a portal stone from the TV merchant though, but I think they're quite expensive. They are single-use and will take you back to base, and you can only carry one at a time.

It would be helpful if the door back into the sewers could appear on the compass bar (preferably optional to turn on or off, to keep everyone happy), as it can get a bit hectic in the districts and there is no time to study the map for directions.

    Frankly?

I thought I was gonna have to buy the expansion, but apparently my ESO Plus got me into IC anyway. I really had wanted to test if I could get in without buying IC, but oh well.. that was easy.

The NPCs were interesting to talk to... quite a few had stories..

I got into the Memorial District today. My first scouting mission from the board.. Cool. UP the ladder I go.. I see all three factions fighting in small groups, so I jump down to help. Get the Tel Var stone tooltip. Cool... Now.. where do I plant this banner.. NO !@$%ing WAY.. on top of the safe area that I now cant get to unless I give these vultures my stones? Sigh.. Ok..

The fighting was fun.. but after 45 min, I had to go.. HOW THE... DO I GET OUT OF HERE? Would it have been asking too much for a portal to the sewers UNDER THE DAMN BASE, the only place I know how to get to? Instead, the only sewers showed was across the map.. well.. guess I gave any TV stones I had accumulated since figuring out I had to die to plant the flag for the quest to the gankers who were standing waiting for people who wanted to leave at the sewer entrance.. I never did actually see it, since they killed me, so I guess I was at it.

THUMBS DOWN, if you are only wanting to play for an hour, this zone is NOT the place for you.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom If these are dedicated.. why are they not stickied? Had to find this 3 pages into the forum.

Anyway - I had a bug in the temple district where it would not let me into the sewers (not in combat). I would interact with the sewer, it would sheathe my weapons and then do nothing. I had to go to another district to exit into the sewers.

And my biggest gripe in PvP in the districts (played for about 2-3 hours, will play more) is the NPC mobs are INSANELY powerful. PvP turns into NB's waiting in sneak for you to engage a mob, you take 1-2 hits for 10k + dmg and then they finish you and cloak out.

When I PvP in IC right now I feel like I can determine who will win or lose not based on skill or player build, but simply who is getting attacked by NPC mob's the most, which is not cool for me.

Although I may not feel as strongly as Darlgon, I had the same experience. Once I got in.. I couldn't get out. I found a sewer entrance and went in, went to where some random quest marker (outside cyrodiil quests) sent me, ended up in MORE sewers! Well, I tried to sneak my way through but yeah, stuff happens, I ended up dieing. To be honest.. throwing myself at the first boss I come across and losing 10% seems to be better for me than trying to find my way.

Pretty much - it's clear and easy how to get in the districts, it is not clear how to get out.

Agree with the scaling of old PvP vendor gear, but with a higher cost.

We can already get VR16 gear from scaled dungeons, or scaled chests (if not please confirm)

Why not open up the PvP vendors to higher levels as well?

Entering the Imperial Sewers is simple enough. The sewer entrances are marked with huge symbols.

Going to the districts also simple enough, just climb the ladders. Safe zones around the entrances are a nice touch I guess. Getting back to base is more confusing. The only way back is through the bottle-necked sewer entrance, which is another long walk through Imperial Sewers = more mobs and more enemy players. Often found myself purposely suiciding to a boss to port to the safe zone, then immediately back to base. 10% vs 100%? No brainer. It's sad really, given how the most beneficial mechanic is one that encourages you to skip most of the new zones. Getting ganked the moment you emerge from a load screen? No thanks.

Actual district design and layout? Meh. It looks like an extension of Coldharbour, which is appropriate I guess, but the drab blue colour scheme gets boring after a while. I've never played Oblivion so can't comment on how similar or how different it is. All 6 districts feel really samey to me, general ruined environments, Daedra everywhere, no incentive to explore due to risk of loss... didn't bother exploring. There was no point.

Mobs are... pretty powerful. They are numerous enough such that getting around is a chore. They don't seem to drop anything other than gold and TV stones though. Bosses do drop V15 gear, but aren't worth the trouble usually. They seem to have way more health than Crag mobs, which does add to the whole Public Dungeon/ Adventure Zone feel of the place. For me personally they just seem to get in the way of PVP fights, and are more of an annoyance after a while. The whole mixing of PVP and PVE just doesn't work well for me. I don't feel excited seeing the new mobs and bosses. I want to learn their mechanics and all, but knowing at any moment I could get ganked and my kill stolen just... no.

    Minor bugs:
The Imperials in the bases use Redguard voices.
The siege in the Elven Gardens continues to fire even when the Imperials operating them are killed. Magic maybe.

Overall, as a PVE oriented player, I would loved to have the chance to thoroughly explored the districts and take in the atmosphere, but this is just another group-or-die gank fest. Not worth a buy.

This evening I tryed to reach the Imperial City and try it off, from what I exprienced I found it so much fun, but there are some problems (well I think they are problems, probably is normal):

    1) I found the campaign itself full in each side (ebonheart, daggerfall and aldemeri) but seems there are noto so much players in the IC, I am an ebonheart and I found only 10 (maybe 15) aldmeri and 7 daggerfall in 3 hours of play test,

    2) There is no PvP fights in the sewer, I wondered around with different groups (from 5 to 15) and found no player enemies all the time,

    3) (this is a subjective problem) I explored almost the entire sewer but I found the entrance only of the arena district, I found pretty hard to find entrance and exit of each district in the IC and in the map too, probably I had to search on web where are the entrance of the other districts,

    4) The PvP in the IC is so much fun but I did not found the public dungeon and the entrance of the two group dungeons (like before the same thing occured exploring the map of the IC),

    5) Probably will be a good idea to handle the ganks at the entrance of the other alliances in the IC districts, I have no problem being ganked (already happened) at the entrance, but I understand that this will be probably annoying for someone,

    6) All the points above replicated when I tryed to reach my alliance base to log off, I got lost several times before finding by a miracle my base (probably you are saying "is not so hard, turn back and do the same way round", but is not so easy wandering from a tunnel to another one all the time and after 3 hours try to find the right way back to your home), there is no fast travel too inside the IC (well this is what I've seen so far probably this will be wrong),

    7) Found two trophies in the IC in 3 hours of playtest, I do not remember which are neither in such occasions I have dropped them,

    8) I also found a romm with a big portal in the middle (the same room in the artwork on the loading screen) but there were no bosses there, I thoug that portal was just for the scenario without any gameplay purpouse, I alse tryed to enter in it and I found myself in the "void" (before doing that I thought that would be impossible to enter because a "invisible wall" or a wall behind it, but...) everywhere was black except where i entered, there was the portal fro mthe other side, probably this is bug I don't know for sure,

    9) Last thing in the arena I found the "arena" ( ) and inside it there were a boss fight, my god how I loved that (well would be awesome if that arena would be a PvP arena, but it is good enough anyway with a boss) but there is no map clue about that "boss fight" inside that "arena" infact I was alone inside agaisnt a big angry clannfear because other players did not notice this entrance because they wander around there farming tel var stones from other enemy players and npcs and I don't think all of them know that "arena" entrance with a boss inside.

Anyway I found IC very very fun, but pretty hard to navigate inside it, hard to find entrance of the districts, lack of PvP fights except in the districts (I only found the arena), pretty empty of map clues about some point of interest both in the sewer and districts (there are some clues about some point of interests but they are not so descriptive because the icons are the same of the PvE regions and in IC I found where is a clue there is a boss too, can't say the same for PvE regions) and in the end I did not udnerstood how to find materials for crafting and where to craft the new items, there are no ores, no wood, no tailoring plants, nothing, probably I'm missing something.

In conclusion with a very very very little improvement IC will be perfect, right now I enjoyed it so much but not at its maximum beauty, because some things are pretty hard and confusing from my point of view but is very good anyway right now  .

While in the IC Sewers last night I came across the White Tower Dungeon so I went in to take a look at the start of it. When I left(exact same way I entered) I was ported into Grahtwood and not the IC Sewer I went in through. Is this intended?

All of the other dungeons when left actually take you to the zone they are in so why not Imperial City? I can understand that would be the case if you didn't purchase the DLC, but if you enter from IC, you should be able to return when leaving the dungeon.

Small and pointless was my initial reaction.

Having to go there for crafting mats/tokens and partake in claustrophobic pvp where ping to realm is going to decide so many encounters may well just be the motivation I need to forget IC exists, retire my now even more re-tard-ed Templar and level an alt.

Edit: Using retar ded in its actual context invokes the *** monster

Needs to be more in game information how to get back to your Alliance safe zone. Was in a guild chat and that was the most common thing I heard. The response was not one that is good for gameplay: "Just die."
Make Rush of Agony "Monsters only." People should not be consecutively crowd controlled in a PvP setting. Period.

Indeed it's not designed for 1 hour play if your plan is to farm TV stones. If you want to PvP though, it's the perfect location.
It's doesn't take a genius to figure out where the sewer entrances are to get out of the districts, it's actually a 2 -3 min walking distance if you're on the other side, I really don't see a reason to complain here...

We need some spawn immunity, when you pop out of the sewer into a district, your almost dead before you can take control of your toon, there be sewer campers, a smelly bunch..LOL

Most games I have played in the past either put up a wall or door or made it where you not attackable for XX seconds while you spawned..

I really like the overall layout of the districts, there's plenty of cover and the mobs definitely seem different/more dangerous then the ones in Craglorn or most dungeons. Biggest problem I noticed is that the respawn points for each faction are too close to one another, and to the entrance gates from other districts. There really needs to be some way for a faction to "take control" of a district and eliminate enemy respawns + use of transit ladders from faction base to get quick access. Enemies would only be able to get access to a "controlled district" via gates or the sewers - this would balance nicely with Cyrodil proper in terms of time for enemies to respawn and run back. With enemies respawning constantly in the same district after dying, getting anything done PVE wise or keeping TV stones is really hard. Where TV stones are concerned in particular the tension should be getting back through the sewers to base IMO, not in wading through an endless wave of respawning enemy players.

Until some sort of control mechanic for districts is developed, IMO it would be best to force players to respawn at their faction base in the sewers and disable the district respawn points altogether. Each faction would have transit ladders to only two districts, and have to use gates or the sewers to get to the others (IE DC might have transit ladders to elven gardens and arena, EP to temple district and noble district).

The current situation with respawns in the IC right now is a big problem similar to forward camps, or what keep battles would look like if players could constantly respawn until all flags are taken. When I defeat a player in IC, generally speaking I don't want to be attacked by the same player seconds later after they respawn.

Actually, (and I cant find the written quote on this, so I think it was from an ESO LIVE episode), one of the ZoS guys (Eric/Brian) said Imperial City WAS DESIGNED for people to log in for an hour and play, if they wanted.

Soooo, I was in IC for two hours and wasn't able to complete 1 quest. With the constant NPC respawns and all the gankers roaming around it's pretty much close quarter PVP and nothing else. I found a crafting station, but what's the point really when you'll die trying to make something here. All of the graphics are really good but what good is that really when you can't accomplish anything except losing Tel var stones......

So I tried to do some quests with some peeps in IC:
    Temple District went perfectly fine
Noble district: door spawn is cluncky. Notably the eastern. We did it two times and no one got the complete. For some reason I got it at some point bu my comrades did not get the complete so we said: *** this.

Suggestion: make the spawn faster takes a while to complete. Waiting, then waiting tehn oh! they ares spawning and waiting more. Took us 10 times before the blue zergs stopped *** us over while we where waiting.

Memorial district seemed to go fine. We could not complete, after we started crashing 8 times in a row we stopped. Will try again at another moment.

Memorial district seems to crash a lot. 90% of my crashes have been from entering there I got 3 crashes in a row trying to log into there after crashing on my first attempt. And I've had 4 crashs while walking around. No deaths caused by the crashes yet.
