Why reward the AP Farmers IMO?

Why having a questionable PvP reward system? To blame players? You are funny.

I don't see how being able to buy v16 Ravager would put you off exploring all the new stuff in the IC?

It won't put the person with off, just those without.
I don't think many people currently would be happy enough playing in v12 gear, same difference really.
The problem here is that they are making a form of currency redundant because some people accumulated loads of it. Imagine what would happen if gold was replaced by some other currency because some people have millions of it?

AP = gold. It's never been redundant.

It is only worth gold if it buys items people want. As it stands after patch it will not.

The intent was for players to pick a campaign and play on it to compete for dominance of the campaign. The majority of "AP Farmers" spent much of their time on campaigns other than their home campaign because the AP is better elsewhere.

Design the rewards system to reward people exhibiting behaviors you want. Right now it rewards zerging down unorganized groups of players in a pointless grind that rarely resembles actual PvP.

If they're going to design the new loot system around email bags then they need to give bonuses to players who are playing outnumbered or on the losing side which should encourage more players to play on campaigns that are less populated and help factions that are weakest there.

    Still a design issue.

it says on PTS forum the IC patch is tomorrow (28th) so soemone can atleast check the elite AP vendor right away and see

Please someone do let us know what you see if you're on the PTS.

Wanted to add a couple separate comments:

Not everyone who has been "saving up" AP is a farmer. AP should be useful for desirable gear rewards (and I don't mean just 2 rings at max level). It doesn't have to be the best gear in the game, but at least very good for PvP. That way there'll be another avenue for progression outside of IC for folks who want that.

Also, if people have saved up tons of AP, why shouldn't they be able to spend it on a few great pieces of PvP gear right away? It's no different than people saving up tons of gold to buy stuff they want later. I don't like farmers as I think they're the opposite of skilled as they basically farm pugs/randoms; but if a farmer gets a pretty nice set of, say, epic quality VR15/16 gear that isn't going to change much about how they operate. However, the availability of that gear to everyone is the important part.
Disabling the grass may improve performance.

I just checked the elite PvP vendor in Cyrodiil on the PTS, and all sets are still available in VR14 for the same AP cost as they are on live.

So your AP is still worth something, and you will still be able to purchase sets from the vendor.

Yes, but at 2 levels below the cap. For those of us that were around for the many, many months when the vet cap was 14 and pvp vendors would only sell at v12, this is not something we'd like a repeat performance of.

It makes total sense for the new sets to only be available via IC. It makes little sense for existing pvp sets to only scale to v14, and makes even less sense when juxtaposed against the fact that all dungeon dropped sets are being scaled to v16.
