ESO PS4 Improvement Sheet
Dear Zenimax,
This game is absolutely wonderful in so many regards and it has given me and my friends countless hours of fun already.
I have played MMO games since Anarchy Online 2006, and have a fair share of experience. Both in the hardcore raiding scene and high-end PvP.
That said, I have some notes after talking with various players while teaming up. Here is a compiled list of things that needs to be addressed for this game to appeal to the more dedicated crowd, as well as the casuals (ps. some items might not in alphabetical order).
UI & ADDONS
Always-Show-Party : Mini-map & compass. Always show party members!!!
Combat-Text : Display damage & healing done / received, xp / rep gain.
Guild-Invite : Let us option invite guild members.
Mini-Map : Toggle option for a typical MMO mini-map.
Mini-Map-Nodes : Discovered items stored on map.
Movable-Frames : Bar watching is like watching paint dry. Let us move party frame for more overview of the actual gameplay to glance at it when needed.
Name-Plates : Name plates over npc & player heads.
Text-Chat : A guild chat. We need an easy means to communicate. Even Warframe, a F2P game has this. PC users have it. Let console users have it.
Traders-Defined-Templates : Give us 5-10 slots to save templates to use for quick search. Saving the need to fill out EVERY SLOT every TIME we search for an item, in a shop. Alternative solution, see Trading-Hub above.
CONTENT
Alternative-Leveling: Give us fun ways to level up. Many love questing, but others don’t. Some want PvE, others PvP. Make it even for everyone. Levelling in Cyrodiil DOESN’T. WORK! A few examples of fun lvling scenarios: Dungeons with waves of mobs. Dungeons like Diablo 3 Rift structure and tons of mobs. Boss waves. Grinding zones. Massive aoe maps.
Grinding-Zones : Give us low level grinding spots. Not everyone likes quests, in fact I despise them. I don’t play these games for quests and story. I want PvP. Don’t force me to do content I don’t enjoy!
LFG-Tutorial : Give beginners a proper LFG tool introduction.
PvE-Tutorial : Give beginners a proper dungeon experience nested into story.
PvP-Tutorial : Give beginners a proper Cyrodiil tutorial.
MECHANICS / BUGS / GLITCHES
Ability-Activation : When a party member throws a ground ability activation for party to use, they glitch out. Making you use triangle or circle, by accident.
Aggro : Mobs hold aggro far beyond necessary time. In PvP you cannot mount because the killed target, on the ground, is still there.
Cross-Faction-Play/Visibility : Let us play with other factions. Let us see other factions. Let us have ZONES for pvp with other factions. Essential to make it feel like a connected world. Having contested zones that are free to be explored makes it so that PvPers go there, while PvE players don’t. No problem for either. Win win.
Duels : Let us duel!? It is a great way to kill time while waiting for people. I mean… it is such an MMO standard.
Email-Last-Messaged : List of last 5-10 mailed people for quick sending of items.
Loading-Times: Some people sit 5 min in loading screens.
Magelight : Deactivates randomly.
Mount : Doesn’t mount… buggy. Can’t mount even when mobs have stopped chasing you due to slow aggro release.
Multi-Spec : Having two specs so we don’t need to rebuild our character when swapping between PvE and PvP. Viable builds for higher end content is not usable in both. Re-speccing daily will be impossible for casuals.
Trading-Hub : Give us a way to browse all vendors in one spot. A capitol city with trading section. This way we have separate vendors, that can sell individually, and a hub when you want to do major trading. This works. People visit traders when near them.
Wall-Fear-Glitching : Fear mechanics make us get stuck in objects at a regular pace.
Weapon-Swap : Unresponsive at times. Doesn’t swap when toggled.
Utility-Bar : Give us a bar for all buffs that last longer than 10 seconds so we can have spells in the current bars. It is bad enough to keep swapping with d-pad, but needing to use 1-2 slots for util is even worse as we can’t swap quickly in all situations due to the logistics of the controller. Make up for it by giving us a bar where these buffs are and have slot 1-2 for bar 1, and slot 3-4 for bar 2 i.e.
Quest-Chain-Update : When quest in chain is complete, the next quest it jumps to is a random in list. Doesn’t update to next in same chain. Confusing and cumbersome.
Quest-Weaving : Please make quests weave into each other more like Stonefalls. Less backtracking makes for a more enjoyable experience. AD’s quest lines are so back and forth, I grinned 1-50 instead of questing a second time. Couldn’t stomach it.
XP-Toggle : Please please PLEASE let us toggle off xp gain. Some want 49 PvP to try out specs and see if they really want to play the char at vr14+.
