I waited for 3.5 hours for XBL core services to be restored, only to find the NA megaserver is now apparently not accepting connections? :(

Never at any stage are we compensated for these issues.

They do not seem to be aware of the issue yet. No comment.

They just updated the Play/Server Select notice to state that the NA megaserver is unavailable while they "perform maintenance". Why can't this crap happen while I'm at work? >_<

Now the servers are down for maintenance.

I wish I could get away with calling it "maintenance" when one of my servers goes down. Where I work, we call it an "outage", and if we try to cover it up with "maintenance", it becomes a "resume-producing event"...

Don't buy into the notice. It's not maintenance; it's an outage.

It is. TESO's EULA. It states that they are right 100% of the time.

It really isn't fair to bash them folks. If this is a DDoS attack on them, it's just another attack on them as well as us.

I don't think it's a DDoS attack, but if it is, I laugh at the person who spends their night DDoSing an MMO.

I checked the usual suspects, but nobody is claiming to be DDoSing these folks. But who knows. Either way, I'm paying 'em for ESO Plus, and I paid for the game, so I'm going to complain a bit. The same way the devs would complain if a mechanic screwed up their car, or their ISP went out when they were trying to watch a game/UFC fight; we're all human, and venting on the internet is definitely a human pastime!

Actually the Internet was started by the US military as a secure means of communication. They just never thought it would go anywhere so they made it public.
