This has been happening to me a lot lately, I will be in stealth, and stealth wont even break or anything, next second, I get jumped by someone.
Someone suggested it was a det potion, if that is the case, that's kind of fair I suppose, as it only makes sense for stealth to have some vulnerabilities.

Who then just stealths out and i cannot find him with my sorcerer. So can nightblades just see anyone in stealth, even if they are far away, do they have to be relatively close, also, I do not ever get "detected" I just get attacked then detected. Playing on ps4

sneak detection works in a cone in front of you.

Is there a delay associated with the detection? For example, if I rotate in a constant circle, will I pick up someone the second they enter my cone, or is there a slight time delay before they are actually detected once in the detection cone?

Just to make it clear, nothing mentioned in post #2 is nightblade-specific, any class can use those.
NB's have a class skill, a mark, that allows them to see stealthed people if they try to stealth after being marked, however you can clearly see that you've been marked (a red pillar-like effect is on you for ~30 seconds) so it never surprises you.
Most likely, the NB saw you before you entered sneak, activated a detection potion, then moved on your position fast (nightblades can move very fast in sneak).

Just to be clear, ANY class can move very fast in sneak. Vampires, Nights Silence set. Only thing NB has is concealed weapon which i dont think stacks anymore. I could be wrong about this though. Plus from my experiance most NB run with surprise over concealed.

Far enough away to not get hit by the stealth mages but close enough to fight. We retreat back down the hill kinda and i was tellin people what to do so i was far away watching the front door or a side hill for any sneaking by. So me and a few guys would chill out front of our keep, because they would come back through the gate they controlled. So i waited for when they pushed everyone else back to the keep and we would be there to join the fight or swarm from the side. (flank attacks and such)
