Is zenimax discriminating against deaf people on consoles by not adding text chat
zenimax i think is discriminating against people with disabilitys especially the dear without text chat on console it makes it hard for ppl who can't hear useing area chat to communicate

Lleksu✭✭✭I don't think they are intentionally discriminating against the deaf and hearing impaired, but their poor decision to leave out text chat has resulted in them being left out and effectively treated as second class.
The fact that it hasn't been added and, even more so, that Zenimax blatantly refuse to comment at all, certainly does make it appear as though they don't care though.

You chose to play on consoles, which is automatically inferior. When you take something from PC to console, it has to be downgrade, things need to be taken out, etc. small things like text chat, etc. are not needed for virtually all console players, but unfortunately some are negatively affected by that. That's actually a safety concern. If a person in a wheelchair hurts themselves climbing up or down steps, then the proprietor is liable. ADA regulations are there to protect disabled people, not cater to them. Consider they've made the game on PC which is the most appropriate gaming machine for anyone with disabilities.
Also consider if someone does have a vocal handicap or hearing disability they would tend to carefully select games by machine and genre. This would in many cases be a PC choice for hearing or vocal disabilities.
Your point may be more appropriate to suggest that Sony and Xbox have built machines that do not have those persons with disabilities in mind but it's a far stretch to put that on Zenimax especially because of how customizable the PC version is.
