About provisioning!

Is there a normal price for food and drinks? According to quality I mean!

That depends on which server and platform you play this game on. I bet it costs a lot more on consoles than it does for pc/mac users.
  • theroniest87
I play on xbox one and its hard to know what's the optimal price for smth cause people just make the market confusing! It would be nice to have prices for green, blue and purple food/drinks!

Well in that case you are limited to actually go out and search the items in guildstores to see their prices, and ask around if you are member of a guild.

The prices depend on supply and demand. In any case regardless of what others are selling for, I sell for the price I would be willing to pay for each item. I find it to be fair, so while I'm not making a ton of money fast at other's expense, I make more than enough money for stuff I need (inventory and bank upgrades, repairs, mounts, etc).

About the only foods I ever sell with any Regularity are Purple VR Ranked Foods. Lower level foods don't seem to sell, other than those items that are asked for in Provisioning Writs, especially the L1 Writs. And, then your only going to sell a 10 stack.

Provisioning is too easy to level, and to easy to find ingredients for to be a source of crafting income. Consoles maybe different in this regard right now, but I doubt it.

Its not about income, its cause I don't want to sell things for insane prices like people seem to do but I don't want to sell blue food for example just for 10 gold at the merchants! But still I don't know for how much I can sell them!

Foods and Drinks, when they do sell, go for Ingredient Replacement Cost divided by 4 (since master provisioners make 4 portions with the passives) This means that most Greens and Blues are quite cheap, Purples you can get some more for those. I am getting 69 Gold per VR1 Purple Food. Somewhat less than replacement cost, but I have a couple stacks I need to get rid of as all my mains are now VR5 plus.

So shop for the Ingredients and see what they sell for, not what some people have over listed for. From that you can determine a fair price.

The only exception to this seems to be the L1 Products for writs, a good listing for those is 4 to 8 for 100 gold. Note this is PC, so shop for those also to see pricing on the consoles. If your in a guild with a store, hopefully a large guild, you can look up the prices for things that have sold in the Guild screen.

50g per drink O_O console prices...

I agree, food and drinks are very good if you solo, and obligatory if you get up in vet ranks and want to do endgame content. If anyone in my team is missing food, potions or soul gems - either I do or someone els in the team will give it to them, because we need people to stay optimal during group content.

I wouldn't pay that much for provisions. I would only buy them for a writ. I think most any player can make at least SOME recipes, meaning that there isn't much incentive to drop cash on it early on because you can make something that will be at least 50% as valuable to your playstyle on your own. With most content being sharable, and not very difficult, no one is needing to scrape for that extra advantage, no matter how small, until PVP or at least endgame content. That's just my impression, though. I'd listen to Nestor--you aren't going to make any money early on provisions, just do it to level up.
  • theroniest87
Well that means its best to just sell them at the merchants then, I'm leveling it up of course but even with a 110 inventory space you always find yourself with a full inventory in short time lol

It's build specific. If your building a Sustain Build, (crafted or dropped sets that regen Stamina or Magic), Regen Glyphs on Jewelery and then add in Drink Regen, you can keep a fight going almost indefinitely. You may not be doing as much damage, but your not going to run out of resources, before you die.

Note there are not too many good Stamina Regen sets, so Regen Drinks are even more of a boost in this type of build. Especially a Green Drink.

Well for solo content I prefer green magicka or green regen magicka food, but for group content I need blue or purple food, depending on what I do. For endgame content, the only ones I have met who uses drinks are tanks, everyone els goes with blue or purple food, and use a mix of potions and skills to maintain their resources.

  • theroniest87
I'm a tank but id use only blue and purple food! Unless there's smth I'm missing I don't see my magicka, health or stamina replenish quicker when I use drinks or food that buffs recovery!
