How do people deal with nb's?

I PVP almost every day. Won awards in Chillerend all 3 times. Yup. I do it a lot. I mow through Night Blade's like butter.

    @danielpatrickkeaneub17_ESO

Then how do you counter fear? Seriously, I want to know, because it's why I've quit playing.

I have half my stats in health for my VR14 Nord DK, went to all heavy armor, 4 Hist Bark, 4(with weapon) Whitestrakes for health and regen. I can do nothing about Fear, and if I don't die while still in Fear, my health is so low I can't recover before being burned down.

So share with us your secret.

well if you are getting ganked from a stealth stamblade on a horse then it is what it is, that is exactly what they are built for.

I will mark the location on my map when I respawn then run back.

If I"m on my DK i just make sure I have wings up constant as I search the area.

If I am on my templar I have my trusty sentry set to find those buggers.

If I am on my NB I will be patient and wait for him to try to gank someone else and show him a beating afterwards.

If I am on my sorc then shield stack and clanfear (who tends to attack in close range to detected people) and of course bolt for CC and escape.

They have counters, albeit you kind of have to play against their strength which means dying to them first

    What he said.

Stamblade here, squishy as hell. They only way I'm killing you is when you're not paying attention. CC me, and I blow all my stam trying to break free, pop a potion (yeah right, one day pressing the button might actually drink the pot) and trying to GTFO.

If you're the fat kid running to catch up with your group, we're after you, if you're on siege and juuuust a ways away from your group, you're our target. Reading your map? We'll help you with that! Did you just jump your mount off the keep wall and took some fall damage... oh man, we're not going to even need to use Soul Harvest.

If I jump out of nowhere and don't have your health down to execute range almost immediately, I start to worry. If you heal and start to get away, I should be running (I should take my own advice) If you find me before I'm ready to wail on you, that's bad.

Survive the initial burst and you can Rocky IV your way out of it.

    100% this.

you can be squishy all you want, if all it takes it a button for you to disappear at your leisure while you unblockable aoe cc me then disappear again.

It must be practiced incantation and my 40 points into health. I'm not in front of my Xbox now but with all of the Templar passives in that skill line whenever I pop it I become immune to (I believe) everything for about 6 seconds. One of the passives also grants me a ridiculous armor buff too.

The other thing I do is use a staff. It sticks to targets so even if you're invisible I have a much better idea of where you're going to resurface.

The only thing I ever get 1 shot by is seige and usually that takes two.

I agree with you. Templar's are weird but have more potential than any other class if used by someone creative. If you're wondering my full set up is ...

Bar 1: Breath of Life, soul trap morph, radiant oppression, sun fire, and repentance
Bar 2: BoL, rapid maneuvers, silver shards, radiant oppression and repentance

Currently I'm running with 2 staves, but only 1 is necessary.

7/7 heavy armor, all magic enchants, 40 health, 10 Magicka (VR2) imperial templar

It's ridiculous, sorc and nb's need nerfing so much, dk's and templars stand no chance.

Hasn't this been said just about every class since launch?

It seems to me that there will always be some sort of imbalance in the game. Nerf sorcs and nbs and we'll be hearing nerf dks, etc. the following month.

Round and round and round it goes.

That thing is so annoying mostly because it seems to not to anything to me except turn me red. It's taking my armor away then? Hmm ... interesting.

I've dealt with this just by running away. I assumed that it's probably bad but had no idea how.

Once upon a time after reading these forums I respecced my NB with everything that people claim to be terribly overpowered and "easy button" and strolled triumphantly into Cyrodiil expecting to be a beast among men. Then I realized most of these players must not play on my servers because I still had to use skill to get anything done and most of the obvious "OP" skills were defended against by the majority of the builds.

I wouldn't argue that NBs are terribly powerful, but for the absolute power to happen requires a specific set of circumstances (not including exploits or behaviors that are essentially cheating) in order to pull off. This sort of power generally relies heavily upon the circumstances and if there is any lag the finely tuned build is all but destroyed. We have a meager self heal ability, and to have that ungodly sneak speed we sacrifice either a skill slot or give up a better set bonus in order to stack things in our favor to have a fast sneak speed.

I don't believe in simply saying learn to play when people come to the forums with issues, but I would say that if you don't have enough stamina to deal with breakfree you either need to invest in some cost reductions (champion points, enchants) or put some more points into stamina. You can also invest in upgrading your mount with stamina and not burn it completely out as you ride around cyrodil so that when you get attacked you can simply continue riding away. All of these tactics and the others mentioned before me require some planning and forethought. Just because you are not immediately in front of a keep or outpost does not mean you aren't currently in the war. Anytime you ride through a gate, across a bridge, refuse to leave the main roads you are making yourself a target. Fortunately many of these issues have been addressed and countered so you have the benefit of learning from the wisdom of others.

if all else fails, ride with bait. If you see a low level player riding out, stick near to them/just ahead of them as they will most likely be the first target or always make sure you are in the middle of a large group.

Yes you can, but it is the buggiest of all CC. In my experience if you are sprinting when you get feared you can not break it. Also if you are interupted/bashed directly before being feared (disorientated) it can't be broken.

I just went to the wiki. Yup practiced incantation makes you invulnerable to CC and pretty much everything else.

Heals allies nearby allies for [x] every 0.5 seconds for 6 seconds
You cannot move while channeling this ability but gain immunity from all enemy control effects

If memory serves my "X" is 3100.

Practiced Incantation makes you invulnerable to fear. See my post above.

In practice if you fear me before I can pop it then maybe you can kill me before I can self heal but with my armor and health it's VERY unlikely. Chances are, though, I'm going to self heal through it, survive your uber NB attack and be at full health in a manner of seconds. Then it becomes a war of resource management which is a Templar's wheelhouse.
