Some classes mesh better with archery then others though... (Nightblade? Sneak attack bonus, invisibility to evade return fire, and "mark" being most useful in ranged attacks...)
Class =! LoreThere were archer classes in Morrowind and Oblivion. Instead, the archer class got rolled into Nightblade, which was always more of a caster class.
I've said it a million times, ZoS butchered the lore in this regard.

This bothers me and if some of have seen some of my other posts then you already know that, but seriously I understand everyone can use a bow and and run the skill line up and I have. There is a Magika based DPS character so why not put a physical damage based DPS character. I have always loved using bows in MMO's and when I bought this game I was so excited just to get to the create a character screen and see nothing about rangers or hunters. And everyone says "hey use the nightblade" and I have, I even learned to like my character but it still doesn't change the fact that there is no centered bow class. Just thought I'd go off on my rant.
Thanks for reading
There is little overlap between classes and lore, but even so, out of the four, nightblades are one of the closest to their traditional TES equivalent. Dragonknights, now that's a lore headache. There were archer classes in Morrowind and Oblivion. Instead, the archer class got rolled into Nightblade, which was always more of a caster class.

Skills:
Campfire: You can place a campfire which will increase Stam and health regenerations. Also gives camping buff +1000 to all stats for 10 mins
Camouflage: You mask your scent and put mud on your face. You blend in with your environment (much like chameleon spell in previous TES games) Duration: 30 seconds.
Nature calls: You call upon the beasts of the wild to aid. a pack of wolves will help to aid you in battle. 10% chance it will be a bear pack and 1% chance you call upon deers who do nothing.
Cardio/passive: All those days spending in the woods have given you a better workout then insanity. +20% extra runspeed.
Tracking/passive: You can see foottracks of all players in the vicinity also stealhed ones. You can tell how old these tracks are and the estimate distance they are in
Bowtard/passive: light and heavy attacks with bow do 10% more damage and attack speed is upped with 20% (at skill 3/3)
Bow elite/passive: all skill-attacks with Bow do 15% more damage. Range is increased with 50 meters.
Tree hugger/passive: You can climb tree's and make furhats out of small animals.
It's just a suggestion, not a requirement. There are only four classes, so obviously class preview can't show all six weapon types.
The whole point in ESO, and one of the reasons its so good is that there are NO specific character types.
Play as you please (to some extent)
Wear the armour you please
magic based or melee, any class is adept at it.
One quick fix for you would be to put a sticker on the monitor screen where the word night blade comes up on the character screen. Write Archer on it.
A stam based KB using a bow and arrow IS an archer.
If you require rigid class types, then look for a different game, dont try and get this one changed to suit you.

I've actually been playing around with a bow & medium armour stamina build sorc lately. The character is still low level, but it's basically I send in a Clannfear to engage the mobs, then shred them at range with my bow skills. Works great so far - I almost never even get hit in combat. Mind you, that's in solo PVE, and I'm sure that build wouldn't work nearly as well in PVP where the players aren't going to say "hey, let's fight this summoned clannfear and ignore the person over there shooting at us with a bow".Septimus_Magna wrote: »Each class can play effectively with a bow (and medium armor), except sorcs.
