Failed to join Group

I cannot join a friend in a group, when he sends a group invite it says unable to join group but says invite accepted (see attached). He is able to join my group invite but I am unable to promote him to group leader. Other players in group can be promoted.

I have the same issue. My friend can't join my group but I can join him. He can't promote me to leader either after I join him. It is annoying because dungeons are tuned to the party leaders level and only the leader can send invites to the group. We both have open NAT's, north American server and play on Xbox.

Same here.... any solutions yet? This is pretty frustrating being that I Lead a Guild and can't even be the Leader of any Groups. It makes PvP unorganized for our Guild and it makes Dungeons frustrating due to the lvl scale. Sent an email to Zenimax and they suggested i look the problem up in these forums. Thanks Zenimax. Always stood behind you but damn.... idk how many problems i can have in one game.

I have this problem too. I happened yesterday and now it's happening today. What is going on? Very strange

This is a very annoying bug when it happens...
One of our lower levels in the guild has this issue on one character. Always has to be the group leader (nobody else can invite the character to a group, and she can't pass crown) and if she leaves the group it bugs out and nobody is leader (meaning we need to reform the group if we want to invite anyone else).

It's just on the one character, though...?
