Text Chat?

Why is there no Text Communication in this game? Zero chat makes this game boring as ****. I don't see ESOTU lasting much longer without basic communication.

I think its fine without it and the game sold great even though zos made no secret about voice chat being the main communication.

Well, if they included text chat, maybe they could spend less time policing the forums for guild recruitment messages and trading on the forums, since now they can communicate...

Well, if they included text chat, maybe they could spend less time policing the forums for guild recruitment messages and trading on the forums, since now they can communicate...

I can't wait for this kind of passive aggressive messaging to reach a largely happy console crowd!

Do you think the community on console is happier without being text spammed and trolled, because a marginal amount the console player base ever bring this up.

Text chat spamming and trolls is not a problem on pc it is to essay to ignore people and ZOS has always done a good job of stopping spammers. Text chat can gives you a way to reach out to hundreds of people very easy. My guild mate is in a group so he is not in guild chat no problem send a text chat message. Voice is always better for the most part to communicate, text chat helps fill the hole.

This game has not been fine without text chat. It has been a hinderance and i hope people annoy the ever loving cra p out of the devs until they reqlize they effed up and finally implement it... I hate voice chat and its no viable means of only communication in an mmorpg

Well at least it isnt in Imperial City, unless another update is coming, we might not never see it. This game is just way mainstream to be without chat, so I think Zen is shooting themselves in the foot with this.

It will make it ingame... Devs always cave to the majority of the forum whiners usally and if enough people complain about it they will fix it. Its just rarely we see this used for good... Its usally noobs who suck in pvp that whine cause they lack skill and thus the nerf hammer gets dropped on people who dont suck

My guess is next dlc which is probly xmas. Probly with holding it until they can make a few extra $ by getting people to buy a dlc they wouldnt otherwise

I'm 60% sure you are talking about consoles bu you should have stated that at the very beginning. You can wait and see if they'll add text chat on consoles. If you want some communication with others you can use voice chat.

I don't understand it either. Consoles don't get text, PC don't get mic. I'd prefer the option of both, as I use both in other games.

Well. Not everyone has a microphone and not everyone has a keyboard. No-ones going to type in a dungeon using the normal way to do it. (Using your controller to type all the words out). It takes too long.

What they're doing is thinking on the majority. Most people use microphone on consoles so allow them to use it. EVERYONE uses keyboard on PC so let them type. Not all PC players have microphones but it's the same for console.

I see why they haven't added it but I do want text chat implemented. I use my keyboard for typing on my console all the time. It would also be easier for trading, guild recruitment and dungeon finding far more easier. It also may then stop me from having to listen to the people that constantly leave their microphone on making the most loud and stupid noises in the world.

The reason pc players dont have voice chat is the devs were lazy and figured they would make up for the lack of it with ventrillo and teamspeak... Sadly theres no way for console players to get a text chat system in a third party format... Its just ludacris this game did not come with both voice chat and text chat on both editions.... There is a time for both, yes no one wants to type in a dungeon or raid and voice chat is viable in this circumstance. How ever i dont want to yell over 30 imature players in major cities looking for groups or trying to sell my wares trying to be heard only to be drowned out by everyone, that is where the text to chat is needed... And if you dont like using text chat then disable it because it will be toggable so everyone will be happy....

All it boils down to is a bad business choice to pull it out of console edition last min for god who knows why.... But it needs to be inplemented and soon... And just cause this is a console mmorpg doesnt mean you lose the console feel if its in there warframe proves this.. And if your against it because you think this is skyrim with friends then i hate to dissapoint you but this is a mmorpg and its required to use text chats to function at its max potential .

Yes, another thread for something extremely important that consoles need but ZOS will ignore. Sad. Consoles need text chat box. Period.
