I'm not sure what "balance" would mean in this system, but what we can all be 200% sure that there would be one big gank-fest.Rev Rielle wrote: »It's all about balance.
I don't think you should loose all your current stones upon player defeat. I think 50% would have been plenty to both, elicit the risk against reward feeling without having people loose everything they've just collected due to one mistake/gank.
Yes, casuals "win". Especially those shouting "Please don't kill me, I'm only questing!". What a BS.KanedaSyndrome wrote: »Casuals always win over the hardcore, in most MMOs.

I'm going to laugh when the PvP areas turn into a barren wasteland of nothing but NPC mobs and gankers stealthed in corners waiting for someone to come along, but no one is going to come along because the only other players in the area are other stealthed gankers....

Seriously, I am not even that good at PVP, but this is something I will enjoy. So what if I don't get to keep a bunch of stones? at least I will have fun ^_^
You want a challenge? Why not PVP play where you lose half of your gear and all of your gold?
I'd be keen on that.
Every time you die while PvPing delete half your gear and give all your gold away, easy no?
You do realise the nonsense of that statement?Without PvE there simply would be no game whatsoever. Everyone knows that the vast, vast majority of players in any given mmo are those that can be classified primarily in the PvE classification.im actually so much more excited about this patch then initially because of that ESO live ep. I dont want these pve scrubs to ruin it. Brian Wheeler wont let it happen.

Oh great, naked and penniless PvPers running around all the time, with their gear and gold safely deposited in the bank.

Casuals always win over the hardcore, in most MMOs. Expect this to be tweaked a few months after release.
Also, you have been entertained since the day you started playing this game, otherwise you wouldn't be here now, so that statement about being entertained for the first time since launch is incorrect.

Out of curiosity, what it requires for your hardcore part to be entertained? Killing scrub pve players until you realize that there's no challenge and the first giggles are gone?
I would imagine that pvp players especially hardcore ones would seek good challenge and even fights. Small scale pvp and arenas.

Seeing how many stones you can collect before dying, the chance of getting jumped by better or more numerous players... It's all there.

Of course theres a challenge here, cus if you die you lose ur stones. That way theres always a challenge.

This is kinda interesting as one basically gets stones either PvE in IC or killing people that do PvE in IC. We all know what PvP players think of PvE. The element of danger that someone jumps on you or outplays you has always been present in Cyrodiil.
I'm welcoming this new content myself. I just see it kinda funny how some people cheer that finally they will get their enjoyment of killing people that would prefer PvE over PvP. Which will get boring very soon.LEGENDARYYY wrote: »Yes. I want arena. But, that won't happen it seems. Still IC seems better than nothing.

So I was right. You get your kicks from killing unsuspecting players trying to get stones for gear. Like said above there has always been element of danger. I do not see challenge in ganking people for some stones. Maybe you see challenge for yourself on how to hide and secure your "hard earned" stones after many easy kills.
