Why is Valkyn Skoria Set so popular?

Hi everyone,

One of the Undaunted "Monster" sets (Helm & Shoulder pieces) - Valkyn Skoria, seem to be very popular. I see people running around wearing it more often than other sets. And many ask in chats to go for helm run at City of Ash dungeon. Is it because of prestige? I looked the bonus of all the sets and the Valkyn Skoria just seems comparable to some of the others.

Mainly because of the looks and for pvp. Quite nice if you get a free 12k crit to an player. For PvE mehh. Only class that really uses it are Magicka DKs

Best set for DD from all the monster sets.

As Valkyn procs from any DoT damage and hits the target it procs on it provides a more reliable damage effect than Nerein'eth. The lich crystal takes 3 seconds to explode in a small area and is easily avoided, even by NPCs.

Valkyn is also the only set which you can get both pieces at VR14 as CoA is the only dungeon that scales that high.

Skoria is just a very strong set.

Skoria is a set that can increase the DPS of atleast 50% of the DPS builds out there by A LOT something like 2-3k DPS.

Lol you should see the proc when you have an ash cloud down... big aoe that hits every .5 seconds
