I will say ganker's are not a problem if you travel in numbers, but what's to stop allies from allowing you to fall so your attacker gets your stones before jumping the attacker to take your stones fir their selves?

IC sounds like it could bring out the absolute worst in people on so many levels. I shudder to think about the kind of EVE-type behavior this could bring out.

Please no, you'll expose the plans of awoxing to the unknowing Highsec miner bot aspirants.

Do you dare to open Pandora's box?

Just remember what happened when miner bot aspirants got out of control, James 315 came to save them from themselves.

The same thing will happen here, you can't expose Tel Var Stone awoxing because no one can bear the fear of knowing it exists.

Yeah, I was just thinking about it and that would be the bigger issue. If you are going to go deep and take on bosses, be weary if you see a raid of allies just watching you. They will be waiting for whoever ganks you so they can gank them. Then again; may be just as easy for them to get the stones themselves with that many. Probably could call it a valid tactic and you should just make sure you travel with trusted friends and guildies.

I'm actually for the entire idea as PvP that REALLY matters to me personally. It will be how I gear a lot like other MMOs do only in some others with say, warzones; I get currency just for completing it, win or lose with no risk other than maybe not having a good time if I am in a bad group. With the stones, I need to control my own destiny and am really vested compared to outside of IC where I'm really fighting for a leaderboard that doesn't matter, some PvEers buffs, and someone else to become emporer.

I am not the greatest nor the worst PvPer so I can see why people might not like the idea, but this could be really great for others who do like this sort of thing. I think it will be something I like and I hope for those that don't, you get more of what you like soon.

Ha-ha boom. Exactly. That's what I will be doing. I will be trying out PvP but I will not think of it as my source of stones, they will just be a nice bonus if I happen to finish my PvP time with any :)

You gave me an idea to change the title to brainstorm how to exploit the system so it can be addressed before it becomes an issue. So lets hear all the ideas everyone has!

Of course, there can be a fine line between "exploit" and "creative use of the system."

They could just mail them the fee before hand or whatever, I have friends on opposite factions too, so we could effectively donate each other Stones if we wanted too?

Please don't even mention EVE Online's level of behavior compared to this game. This is nowhere near as bad. It is definitely bad, don't get me wrong, but EVE is a game where you could lose literally MONTHS of progress from getting ganked.

Hence why I don't play EVE Online anymore outside of the claustrophobic UI it had that raised my anxiety levels and made me feel like I wanted to vomit after an hour of playing.

Even that simple implementation is at least something. I'm sure that with player feedback and PTS testing, anti-griefing and anti-boosting measures will be put into place, or a diminishing return on it.

Why go through all of that trouble? Materials and other items purchased with Tel Var Stones are trade-able. It would work the same as AP does currently. Simply spend your Tel Var Stones to purchase what the other player wants, then sell that item to them. No need to meet up and kill each other.

What I see as a problem is gankers camping at the sewer man hole waiting for players to go in to deposite there stones. This is a problem and a real one even before PTS drops cause we all know gankers will be doing this and my opinion it's best we and ZoS try to find out a answer before it even becomes a problem.

Thinking they might not have that apply to the quest boxes but taking that out to go farm would be a risk I'd be surprised someone would take.

Of course risk goes way down if your alliance really dominates a campaign.

I missed ESO Live unfortunately, but one way around this - just off the top of my head - is to have something like a transaction 'tax' (poor term I know). E.g. I have 80 Tel Var Stones, someone kills me. I loose 50% of my stones (i.e. 40) and the enemy gets 20 stones. Next time I am defeated by a player I loose 50% again (20 stones now) and the enemy that kills me gets 10. And so on.

I think it might address two things:
    a) Not loosing all your stones at once from just one mistake/gank/ambush out in PvP etc, and
    b) Stopping players with characters from opposing factions swapping/trading/selling Tel Var Stones.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Dude it just doesn't work the way you predict: camping a predictable spot as a ganker is just asking to be rekt. I'm not saying ganking won't happen... I'm just saying it's not going to happen in the obvious places you're predicting will be the problem.

Besides... did you miss the part about buying a teleport token for 500 TV stones that takes you back to your safe camp directly?

This issue was covered months ago and given an additional solution in today's ESO Live:
There are multiple exits/entrances to the safe zones, and sewers.
There are "portal stones" to purchase for 500 Tel Var Stones which will teleport you back to base from anywhere inside the Imperial City or its sewer system.

It will take an organisation with an expansive ganking network to counteract these solutions.

No and I'm not talking about right ontop of the man hole cover of course there know not to camp there but say across the street behind a barrel far enough to not be effected by mage light or pots but close enough for snipe to still have it's damage last time i check snipe still had the farthest range out of most of the skills.

When you log out in the Imperial City, you will log in inside the Imperial City. The Imperial City and sewer system are separate zones from Cyrodiil but share the same pop cap. So if your alliance is pop capped, logging out may boot you to outside Cyrodiil. This supposition is just that: logical thinking. It is in no way proven where you will log in if the campaign is pop capped for your alliance.

    Possible ways to combat this:

    1. Do not allow withdraws from the bank. Spending them comes directly from the bank, not inventory.
    2. Randomize the amount of TV that is lootable rather than using 100% or any fixed percentage.

Does anyone remember the specifics of what they said?
What is to stop someone "selling" 10,000 Tel Var Stones? They leave the bank with the and meet someone in an awkward location where they take all of their stones from their corpse. They could just mail them the fee before hand or whatever, I have friends on opposite factions too, so we could effectively donate each other Stones if we wanted too?

    Love this idea.

I'm sure there will be several exploits exposed when it hits PTS. We will just have to wait until then.
