Too many entitled gamers lately, wanting good content but not wanting to pay for it. You are all OLD GUARD if you are opposed to the crown store but not to a monthly sub with paid DLC. Whatever gets them their money is fine by me, especially when they are not going pay to win at all.
Your paid sub is like cable; you pay for a subscription and get whatever they feel like putting out. Sure, people will cancel if they are unhappy with the service for long enough, but there's no real guarantee that you're paying for content. They can take their time on DLC, since many people will pay subs and level their mains/alts to max. With DLC you are buying content, and they are incentivized to both regularly make content and to make high quality content that will sell well. You can essentially put out good content as fast as people can play it, and you will make more money with more content (not so with a sub, especially if you make your new content very grindy).
I personally would never have bought the game if it did not release on console, and I would never have bought it if it had a monthly sub. I have a feeling that there are a lot of people like me out there. All I see on here is doom and gloom from PC players, but honestly a lot of the complaining here is about stuff that is better for everyone in the end.
This is definitely going to be one of the top ten posts made on the official ESO forums this entire year. WELL SAID!
Signed, MMORPG player since Everquest 1 launched and MUDs before that.
Sorry, but no.If ZOS makes more on their $30 ice horse than they do on a $25 content release, guess what ZOS is going to focus more resources on?
Speak with your wallet! BUY IMPERIAL CITY!

So far, my concerns about the game haven't been addressed, regarding PvE play. I'm not spending one red cent on a game requiring me to PvP a way through it because I can't stand PvP.
I've already lost Cyrodiil access. I won't lose it again after buying the DLC.
I'd rather spend 2500 crowns on a Senche-Tiger mount. At least then, I can appreciate my spent money because how cool would it be to ride around Tamriel on a tiger!!!
So let them focus their resource on mounts. I'm cool with that.
Frankly, that being able to lose those stones, plus the risk of having to fight through pvp content to get there is probably enough to keep me from buying this one. If they want me to buy it, they need to allow me to access the pve content without all that nonsense.
I may or may not try testing on PTS. Having some health issues right now that prevent me from being able to concentrate on playing.
I did make some purchases and discovered that if I want that content on both NA and EU servers I have to pay twice. I am not happy about that either. It feels like everytime I do that I'm being taken advantage of. That feels pretty darn horrible. It's probably legal. It is not ethical.

I don't see how either purchase is sending a different message. To be honest, both messages say the same thing: "I support what ZoS is doing. Here is my money."Like I've told others, you're free to send that message. It does however mean that that of us who would prefer playable story driven and mechanics driven content over mounts and costumes need to speak that much more loudly with our wallets!

DLC is going to take more time to make, obviously, but this shouldn't come down to an "either/or" situation. If players spend $1,000,000 on Crown purchases, and only $800,000 on DLC (examples only), this isn't going to deliver a message "Stop making DLC" to anyone.
ZoS is looking at this game as a long term investment. One day, it will eventually die, but until then, giving people what they want is ultimately the best course of action.
Well, the game is doing well according to recent reports, what with all the new console players.
Will be interesting to see how long that holds.

I agree with the premise of your thread in theory but in practice I have little interest in 2 more vet levels that don't have actual leveling content to go with it and being forced into a PvP meat grinder to scavenge for upgrade tokens while getting ganked. I wish this was DLC I was interested in so I could support it but this isn't it.
Ok. So Imperial City is on is way. This is the kind of content we want. ACTUAL content. We need to show Zenimax that THIS is the MOST profitable way to make money with ESO. I urge everyone, sub or no sub, to buy Imperial City. If ZOS makes more on their $30 ice horse than they do on a $25 content release, guess what ZOS is going to focus more resources on?

Question! I'm an ESO Plus member, do I still have to buy this DLC or no?
