You haven't seen the gear stats so you don't know that, you are just spouting your worst fears. Even then they have already said anything you can buy from the PVP section of the update can be sold on a guild vendor so you can farm nirncrux till you can buy the gear with gold, or have a friend who can keep 20 bucks in their pocket get it for your whole guild and they can farm the gear for you and sell it to you on the cheap.
Where did you read that?

1st 12 months sub $180 vs $205
I had a sub last year I wouldnt have had to pay an extra $25 for something promised (also would have gotten content months sooner, alot changes in the 2 scenarios)
Lol and No words.....

So you don't pay sub to ZOS but you want the DLC free? Statement goes above and beyond this game and exemplifies what's wrong with this country.
You've been around a long time....There is NO way you could have possibly not known you would have to pay for Imp City. It has been stated multiple times unless you are an ESO + member, then you would pay for it. Having been playing MMOs for the past 15 years, ZOS wouldn't even need to announce that for me to expect it.

At $18.18 worth of crowns, for a package of this size it's actually more than fair towards us as players honestly. You also can get all of the items within by buying them from other players, still, since they're all being left as bind on equip unlike the numerous PVE sets that do not come from PVP at all, and cannot be bought with gold. Unlike regular expansion packs for some games, there is no massive power gap coming from it that can't just be earned through normal gameplay anyway as a result, and there's no jumbo-sized three-times-the-power increase like going from say, level 70 to level 80 in a game like World of Wombats gives, eitherthat you can't even get to in any way, shape, or form without buying the package.

Lets do some simple math.
Play game for pvp and promise of updates
-1 imperial edition /w statue.
- about 100 dollars (cant remember and cant find it on google what the cost was, i know it was close to 100 after tax)
-1 year sub cause i was paying 3 months at a time. (i payed another 3 months cause i believed in the game after BTP, but will leave that out)
-15x12 = 180
100+180= 280 dollars spent on this game in 1 year being strung along with carrot promises.
got like 3400crowns =34 dollars for 1 year of playing
280-34 = 246 dollars
Its not the money obviously, but the principle of being strung along and f'ed in the ass by ZoS. Just to be made to pay something i well payed for already. Where is the lube ZoS, where is the damn LUBE!!!
Oh and where the hell is the PVP portion of the justice system, is that even happening anymore? i doubt these guys were failing with subs and how many people were playing before BTP i mean if everyone who was loyal at the time was paying what i payed they were making hand over fist with our money.
Some leaked guesstament site said that 700,000 people bought the game
700,000x60=42,000,000
and lets say that 1/4 kept playing and subbing for a year.
so 175,000 players subed for a year
175,000x$180=31,500,000
so
42,000,000+31,500,000= 73,500,000 made off the PC players over 1 year. now they must have some greedy greedy money hungry pockets to say f you to those who payed hundreds of dollars over 1 year to them. WTF Zos I NEEDS THE LUBE, RAW IS JUST TO PAINFUL!! LEAVE MY ASS ALONE ZOS WTF, WHERE IS THE DAMN LUBE!!!

ZoS is in my pocket for over $300 on this game so far. I'm also sitting on almost 13,000 crowns but that's beside the point.
I have logged over 100 DAYS into ESO. That's 12.5 cents an hour. Not something I'd really consider expensive entertainment or anything to get raw about.
Ohh and you must have missed the Amazon Prime day Lightning Deal on this yesterday:

ZOS promised something and didn't deliver...
Bla bla bla.
Dude, they also said there will be a monthly sub model at release.
You should have noticed that players don't have to pay any monthly fee any longer.
Seriously, greedy customers and discount whiners are killing every job and quality in this industry.
Pay or make your own games, or pay for a better game, end of story.
Can someone sell me on skyforge ? The combat animations seem overdone (so large they render over character models and consume your field of view), and alpha gameplay I watched seemed cumbersome but a lot of people seem to be trying it.

Its funny reading the people saying well don't pay for it, you don't get content for free... (or that they are delusional enough to convince themselves its ok practice to reward a company with money for bad practices.... capitalism at its finest).
To the people saying its worth it or not a lot of money so its fine... that is not the point. You'll notice a lot of the names of the people not ok with this are people who played all the way through ESO, many of us beta testers from the beginning. Promise after promise was that PvP would NOT be ignored, from the beginning even before launch it was stressed PvP in this game was on equal level in terms of end game content. As Krayiss linked, we were liteally promised multiple PvP updates coming quickly after launch. There has been no PvP update..... funnily enough content has been REMOVED from PvP, very little if anything has been added (if you consider cold harbor siege or Ap buffs from doing PvP content I will lose all my faith in humanity as those are both PvE additions).
When the game first came out we were promised Imperial city shortly... then it was pushed and said well September.... now we are here more than a year later when we were first promised it. So no, regardless of the price you do not reward this kind of behavior, it is unacceptable from a customer service perspective. The ship has sailed. I hope Imperial City is fun, I really really do... but given the overwhelming lack of support to PvP across the board, lack of content, removal of PvP content (some of it for good reasons, but with no replacement)... I have lost all faith and refuse to participate.
ZOS promised something and didn't deliver... in fact they just made more promises.... and they waived a carrot in front of players who bought into their promises... and they kept pulling that carrot on a string just out of reach for over a year now. At some point you just have to say no.
Seriously guys, think back.... what has been a good addition to PvP? Everything they removed were attempts to fix problems with bandaid fixes (forward camps, merc guards, the poor deer).... and did those fixes do anything? Nope.... honestly the only big fix PvP got was due to a completely game breaking FPS bug. A game that highlights its PvP and promises continuous PvP content does not release PvP content for more than a year past when it promised such continuous delivery..... I'm kind of shocked at the fanboyism in this thread...

We all started playing this game with the understanding that it would be a subscription based game so in theory we would be paying $12-$15 a month for it and when we stopped paying we wouldn't be able to log in any more and would lose *all* the content. ZoS changed this to a FTP (or BTP if you want to be technical) and we all benefit from the fact that we no longer need to subscribe to gain the exact same access that we had when we were paying $12-$15 a month.
Now that ZoS comes out with content (no matter how long ago it was promised or delayed) and they are charging for it, despite the fact that anyone who had still be subscribing up until this point would be sitting on 10K+ crowns and be able to buy it outright without another dime out of pocket you're complaining about it?
I mean I hate the way ZoS has managed this game as much as any of you, but I see nothing wrong with the cheap price (relative) that IC is being offered for.
There are better things to complain about IMO.

I'm fine with it and because I have the loose crowns and this is real content and not another mount skin. If I didn't have the crowns I would buy them to get the content too, as the price seems fair (I had expected their marketing cats to try and gouge since this is their first real content past VDSA and was pleasantly surprised). Had console not sold so well we might have seen a higher price point.
PVE gear in this will be BOP but if it is in line with PVE gear in the current game they will not be BOS items for PVP; so PVPers that don't want to buy it shouldn't be too put off by rational righteous rage.
The PVP part of it sounds fun and worth the money. When I compared it to TBC, I meant it was not as ambitious in scope, but also not as expensive. I think they hit a good target here from a marketing perspective.

Thing OP doesn't realize is that it's really a PvE DLC.
There's no new PvP things to play with
There's no new PvP maps to play with
There's no new PvP gear to get
There's no new PvP tournaments
All it is, wait for the PvP'ers to get emperor keeps. Then PvP'ers can pop lock that campaign and play PvE.
One other point.
GW2 had NEW PvP maps 2 or 3 of them.. NEW WvW/AvA maps EotM.
Bolstered the competition on the PvP and WvW
WvW had SEASONS.. Something to strive for in the WvW/AvA scene.
ALL FREE
Yes FREE
Here's ESO, they come out with something...
Slap a $25 on it
Let people think its new PvP content
..
Oh btw
GW2,
2 LIVING STORIES in 1 year
FREE CONTENT
Yes it included new armors to grind and such too
GW2
FREE content
with exception of Expansion pack... Which is TOTALLY worth the money for it.
Now ESO,
$25...
That's almost equivalent to expansion pack.

Lol, WvW seasons in gw2 was a huge waste of time, because of how population balance works in that game.
Living story wasn't much better either
