You got the same value of crowns during the moth you subbed. You can buy it from the crowns you got during this time, or stay subbed and play it for free. You could stop your sub also and buy new crowns and buy it with that. But that would be... well...

Free if you have ESO Plus. If you don't have ESO Plus, that's you're own fault.

I'm more bothered by the fact that IC was already promoted pre-launch.
The whole story is basically based around the IC, and the Ruby throne. Yet they launch a game (without the IC, saying it will come later), and 1.5 years later they announce it... with a price tag.

They have a whole lot more content options which they didn't market yet for which they can ask money.
The stuff we were promised a long time ago (before subscriptions were removed) should stay free.
This would include:
- IC
- Thieves and the Dark Brotherhood.
- Spellcrafting
If they keep this up then you will be paying around 7500 crowns for their initial promises.

IC would be 2500 crowns for an area not much bigger than Khenarthi's Roost.
An area already on the map, In the middle of an already released zone.

Can you remember how they released Craglorn in two updates (Upper and lower Craglorn).
Maybe you should look at the map, but skyrim has only two zones released so far.
Will they release each separate zone for 2500 Crowns (if they don't pull the "upper" and "lower" trick again).
Will we have to pay at least be 12500 Crowns for skyrim? How much will they ask for the rest of the world?

When the game changed from Subscriptions to B2P there were bound to be some things you would gave to pay for.
Cosmetical changes, Convenient things... Not content.
Playing 1.5 years the same stale game without any additions (at least not the promised ones), and ones we get something they said would originally in the game (with which i mean the paid "beta" they called "live" ) you charge us for it!


I don't know if i will buy it or not. Having new things to explore is mostly the reason i game in the first place.
It does make me sad though, being promised something a long time ago only to hear i have to draw my wallet for it.
Personally i'm more interested in the "Imperial City Base-Game Patch", as it (hopefully) fixes some things which were broken since the life tests... i mean Launch.

Didn't PC players get free crowns when the game went B2P?

Perhaps those crowns were meant to pay for this first DLC?

Nope. I paid for access to the game in its (then) current state. What Zeni did with the subscription fees is between their Accountants and Board of Directors.

They said "you must pay for monthly subscription to play the game". I paid, and I played. Then they said "you don't have to pay a subscription anymore. If you do, all future content will be included. If you do not subscribe, new content must be purchased separately", and that's what's happening.

You received the service you paid for at the time. I was among those full of ire when the game went b2p, so I understand that some are upset at feeling shafted by Zeni, but in this case, they are doing exactly what said months ago would happen.

PC players who are paying the sub don't have to pay. Only if you stopped paying the sub (or in the future) you have to buy the DLC. you can even use the crowns you get every month. Sounds very fair to me.

console and pc have to pay for it. PC just gets it first due to testing reasons, you should know that by now. They have also given us a lot of free updates so something that adds a chunk of content is something i don't mind paying for. Besides its not that expensive. hell i still have 3000 crowns sitting around from the loyalty rewards for being subed since beta.

Only people who play console, don't understand the value of money or don't understand that this content was promised in beta of the game to be released before BTP. Will be making statements like, "oh you just have to sub and its free" hey that's paying for it dumb dumb. Way for zos to make this right : PC players get the update for free as they spent more then 10 times for this content before the game even went BTP. And console pays for 2500 crowns because obviously they haven't been paying jack compared to your average PC player.

If you pay for the sub, you get it while subbed, so what's the problem?
If you don't sub, this is a buy to play game. So what's the problem?

i paid a year sub and got nothing and now we have to pay for promised things which got delayed because of console

you got to play the game for a year you got new zones and dungeons etc. then you got enough crowns to buy this dlc. seems like a qq because you spent them on a shiny horse.

It seems all people can think of these days is how to criticize the work of others. Makes me think it's a coping mechanism for the realization that they have created absolutely nothing themselves. The fact that these same people are still playing a game they deem worthless and boring just completely boggles the mind.
Also, I am facepalming at the number of non-programmers who claim that their "fix" is simple and how ZOS is incompetent for not doing it.

Gaming is one of the cheapest high-quality forms of entertainment per hour that there is. You get hundreds of hours out of RPGs and multiplayer-centric games, and even your 8-10 hour single-player story games is a better deal than going to the movies (and even those have many more hours of additional side-story content).

Also, considering the huge number of changes to the game mechanics and additional content (legerdemain), the monthly rate wasn't simply wasted on console porting. Even if it were, you and many others paid for it, so the free market was at work.
