If you have stopped playing and are still posting on the forums, you are what is wrong with gaming today.

Because developers creating bad games aren't part of the problem, right? You're still purchasing crapping games. Perhaps it's you who are the main problem.

so staying in forums to complain? are you f*****g serious? what in the good lords name would make you sit in forums of game you dont play to talk about the game you dont play anymore.

    8.gif

do you remember when you played a game becuase you loved playing games? The problem with todays gamers is entitlement. Anything other than the best game they have ever played is pure failure. I agree that this is what every game maker should strive for, but if you are in the forums talking about how you quit, you should probably quit life.

    #dainbramage

The gaming forums these days are all "ANSWER ME OR I QQ" or "BYE BYE GAME" or something along those terrible lines. While some complainers are here becuase they are truely passionate about gaming but the majority are whiny little turds, and threads like this tend to bring out the turdiest of the turds!

That's cool, brah. Keep pumping those devs full of cash for their blatant cash grab tactics. Keep doing what you're doing and not voicing your concerns. That's totally the way you change the face of gaming...

lets not confuse ZoS participating on the forums as them being involved. lots of people are "active" on the forums, but not as much in the game. if you/we want proof of interest on their side, it should be in the form of patches/updates relative to the issues that are most pressing. they won't and can't respond to every post, about every problem. to be honest, they have been, in some respects, more active on the forums, than maybe 50% of the MMOs i have played. when it comes to customer service, its always better to put up or shut up. so ill agree, stop saying "we are listening" in whatever political form you think works. it doesn't help.... no body trusts a politician for a reason....

They're certainly reading a lot of the topics, that comes across in their comments here and on ESO Live. If you post your questions on the ESO Live thread there's a reasonable chance they'll answer those during the broadcast. They don't just pick the easy questions. I asked a few weeks ago about the Error 209 launcher bug that's been plaguing so many people for so long, and they acknowledged it and said it was being worked on. One or two maintenance patches later they seem to have fixed it in that I haven't experienced the bug a single time since a couple of patches ago and haven't seen anyone posting here on patch days about it either, whereas before then every patch day there would be loads of new complaints about it. ZOS do a lot of things that people just aren't interested in giving them credit for.

If there's a game out there whose developer gets it all right first time, communicates constantly with the players and implements everything they want quickly and without complications, and who never change their mind about the direction of future development, while releasing new content as soon as it's needed then do please let me know, because I've been playing MMOs since 1998 and haven't played that game yet but would dearly like to!

read the bold i put on my portion of the statement above, then speak with regard to communication from other MMOs. unless you can't read, then don't speak. its best for everyone.

just because they decided to comment on an issue that was plaguing "so many people for so long" doesn't mean they were answering a hard question nor addressing concerns any better than a forum response. it could just as easily been that they had the fix (more like finally got around to addressing it or getting close), and mentoned this "hard hitting question/important concern" *wink* because they fixed it or were near fixing it and wanted people to know ASAP to drag them along as long as possible (does this sound familiar mr/mrs. MMOsince1998?).

the game's been thoroughly mismanaged, and no amount of talk will get them out of the holes they have dug. that was my point....

... and my point was that I disagree, they do a lot more than just post on the forums (my criticism of which would be that they mainly read their own forums but post on other people's forums), but even when they do get things right few want to give them credit for that. They haven't lied, they haven't broken any promises, they've given their views on things as they saw them at the time and then changed their mind later on as circumstances changed and things evolved. Some of the players would say those changes were for the best, others would not. Either way, I don't agree that the game has been thoroughly mismanaged. Could they have done better? Sure, but like I said before, show me the developer who gets it right first time and all the time.

you're right, imperial city is a big hit in PVP, the crown store isn't the primary focus for them, the flow in ability execution and general performance is smooth as glass, we got our full experience gain beyond VR14 when the champion system launched, spellcrafting is god, player housing and guild housing has really brought great immersion and community unity, content has been added at a great pace on par with the pace of champion points- i say that because they FINALLY got the replacement for VRs, player guards and de-godmoding guards have really been a huge hit for world PVP that has set a benchmark. get it yet?

thats not to say i support those that hate things like cadwells gold/silver.... i mean come on, do it or don't. what would the alternative be? it wouldn't be that different from what it is, if they built some other set of quests...read the story in gold/silver, it explains the people/events of what happened during your execution of your factions story-line. i wouldn't be surprised if gold/silver is available, because of later/continued story line. complaints of craglorn *eye roll* its a group zone; get a group. and no i havent finished it either, but there are a huge swath of other things to do in the mean time. people still whine and complain about VRs, when my advice is ignore them. work on the champion system and let the VRs come as they come. long term, the champion system is much more relevant.

most MMO companies don't talk a lot for a reason. MMOs aren't a simple beast and promises can bite you in the ass before they save you (as a company). ZoS may say a lot, but all talk and no results is more negative than no talk and all results.

Getting no responses from Zos in threads. Sometimes just an acknowledgment of concerns raised in a post is all that is required, but I walked away feeling completely unimportant and ignored. Ignoring threads appears very common here in the forum. Ignoring, or appearing to ignore, customer concerns leaves people with the impression no one cares, and is a very poor tactic for keeping customers. Sometimes just letting people know they have been heard and taken seriously is enough...even if you have no solution to offer.

    Reasons i stopped playing.
    1. not delivering on promised content in a reasonable time frame.
    2. going back on their word with Veteran ranks.
    3. broken/imbalanced champion system
    4. lackluster Vampire mechanics.
    5. laggy pvp battles leading to much frustration.
    6. reaching max level/gear with little to no content left to achieve.
    7. allowing bugs (some from beta) to persist for over a year now.
    8. keeping their community in the dark, failing to address many of the games problems.
    9. useless PVE dungeon loot (crafted/pvp takes the cake)
    10. broken LFG system
    11. buggy animations and visual effects (some since beta i have reported repeatedly over the year)
    12. ...

The list goes on and on and on.

This. This is accurate for myself and many players I know.

Mini rollbacks , losing 1 or more hours of progress.

I have experienced this 3 times after release in ESO and such server and database sync issues are inacceptable.
I was so close to leave because this is the worst case that can happen in MMOs and you cant get this out of your head "Will it happen again?".

I am so glad they have fixed those severe sync issues because this would really had killed the game.

    1) Slow response to broken story quests
    2) Broken LFG tool
    3) No text chat to form groups, makie trading efficient or to talk in a mid-large sized guild

I came to this game on console expecting an MMO version of an Elder scrolls game. What I ended up getting was just a single player game with a smattering of close circles of friends playing and with no efficient tools to interact with the playerbase.

It feels like Zenimax doesn't quite realize the heart of any MMO is the community. If you don't have tools to cultivate such communities easily, how long can an MMO last?

Lack of PC controller support, no holidays or official in game events, lackluster communication with the community and the gaming media, the Devs just don't seem to be proud or excited about the game anymore. Even if the latter is not true, it's how the last year of behavior has been interpreted by a lot of the community.

Makes it hard to log in a feel excited honestly.

I was very close to quitting when Zenimax said "Hey great news! We're going to put in a cash shop and try to start picking your pocket! Oh and all that content we teased you with over the last year that we made with your subs...we want you to buy it if you want to always have access to it! But wait there's more! We're gonna withhold that content even longer so that the consoles you suckers payed to beta tested for have enough time to play through most of the already available content...that you will have played in limbo for about a year!"

I started playing ESO in the December 2013 batch of beta testers, the beta testers got to pay to continue the beta after April 14, 2014 until ESO: Tamriel Limited was released. I love ESO but one thing that sold me on it after having tried a few "free" to play MMO's was The Elder Scrolls name and Paul Sage in an early video saying, "We feel the subscription model lets us make the game we want to make and the game we feel players want to play. Every player will have access to all content, there will be a level playing field with nothing locked behind pay to win or pay walls."

The only reason I stayed was because of my friends who play.

I started in PC early launch and have copied to PS4. I'm still playing because I enjoy ESO: The world, the combat, playing different characters with different builds, now being able to play with my PSN friends.... all plus sides. But... these are my big 3 that make me sigh heavily:
    • INVENTORY: Enough with the inventory mini games! Choices in games are cool, but they shouldn't be inventory focused. I know ZOS said they want you to make choices with what you keep and not hoard, but when you have all the in-games mats, across all the levels, across 8 characters, all sharing one bank it just gets stupid and NOT FUN!
    • QUEST LAYERS: The game has come to PS4! I can play with my friends! Oh... wait.... I did that quest already and I was going to help you, but now you're invisible... hmm well so much for that. NOT FUN!
    • NO TEXT CHAT(console): Voice chat is great for groups and raids, but not for open world/trade guild. I find myself immediately turning it off because it's all garbage noise. So now I'm a deaf-mute in a social game.... NOT FUN!

I have another little gripe that isn't a game breaker, but it drives me nuts:
SHIELD DYE: Yes! I spent all the time getting my mats, researching pieces to make sets, obtaining unique dyes, man I'm going to look awesome.... annnnnnnnnd my shield is stuck on anodized purple :#

Yup, same issue here. I actually was able to play for a whole 10 minutes today before crashing!!!!! Figured that was the last straw for me. I'm done. I keep getting the same suggestions from support over and over ..even though I have said I tried them all and nothing fixed it. So, I'm done.
