Sense of Dread and foreboding

I can't help but feel a sense of dread and foreboding about the upcoming patch. I am not really looking forward to it at all given ZOS's current track record of patches and bug fixes. I really enjoy my Templar tank, but with the upcoming changes to stamina regen while blocking I am not sure I will continue to enjoy tanking if it becomes a chore to fight for control of my stamina instead of fighting for control of the battlefield. So far with the current level of information regarding the up coming patch I feel more dread than excitement.

I really want to get behind this game and ride it until the wheels fall off, but I find so many times developers make changes that completely ruin the game for me and oft times the fixes come too little too late. I know it must be a daunting task to manage something on this scale in such a way that keeps the majority of the people happy and I appreciate all the effort that is done on our behalf. I know we're all free to leave when it's no longer fun, but I'm really unsure of where I would find a new MMO home that has everything ESO has that makes it great.

With all that has occurred over the course of the last year and all the changes that have been made or not made and all of the disappointments coupled with the (what I feel is neglect of the PC player base for the console release: <--- Just an opinion!!) I haven't really felt any sense of excitement or thrill of anticipation or anything remotely close to either except when they talked about Spell Crafting at Quakecon and that got shelved almost immediately thereafter. :/

Instead it feels more like "Oh for crying out loud, more patch notes, what are they breaking this time. They can't be serious about this change. Do the developers play this game at all. He can't even say that with it a straight face. He knows it's a terrible idea. Internal testing my pasty white freckle covered hairy derriere, and we know how that went. Then the sense of sadness starts to creep in dragging with it a sense of foreboding, that same feeling you get when you're watching your favorite TV show about Thrones and Dragons and Winter and you arrive at the painful realization that a beloved character you've been rooting for isn't going to survive to see the winter. :(

Patch Day = More frightening than losing your soul to a Daedric Prince and having to sacrifice friends to stop the plane meld. :'(

Do what others do and adapt your play style. Swap skills. Potions. Food. Things like that. It's not the end of the world yet.

Change is almost always good. If things stayed the same not many people would continue playing.

To be fair, the block change is the only concern I have from the info so far, and even then, truth be told I can think of only 2 fights it will really be an issue for. Admittedly, for some it may mean a change in approach - going back to just aggroing 2 or 3 mobs rather than everything, but the game had been designed for that.

The block nerf is not cool. Other things I am looking forward to, but not that. I doubt I will tank now, the little bit of lag I consistently get for living in AUS would make it impossible for me to time blocks, as it is, I raise my shield to block an attack in time, but due to that latency, I get hit with the full force, so my only option is to hold block, which I now will not be able to do.

Well, if you are an NB you will be fine. Also if you have a Templar throwing spears you should be ok too. AA axes is the only fight I currently need spears and potion use so that will be tricky, every other fight is done without.
I am magicka based so tank with 13k stamina and have no reduced block cost enchants. I get the feeling with adjustments and use of spears and occasionally potions, the change won't be as disastrous as feared. Though I would hate to have to waste my enchants on block cost reduction :(

Has it been introduced yet? No, so you have no idea what the end result will be.

This has been an issue with many other MMOs and it's nothing new or a big deal, changes happen everywhere around us, except in finished old games like Morrowind (which I call the best RPG ever that I know of). So as long as ESO is being updated, changes will be present, so get used to it and adapt.

I, for one, am very excited about new patches and content, changes, etc. I don't mind, since, after all, it's just a game and one shouldn't get too upset over a game. Just have fun.
