Mods for consoles? Feature requests?

Will there be any mods coming to consoles in the future?

Also, are these items on the list of things which may be implemented for us console scrubs?
  1. Minimap (oh god yes)
  2. Constant showing xp bar
  3. XP/DMG/REP -gain numbers
  4. Mark inventory items as junk. Mass sell junk button. (safer and quicker way of handling selling)
  5. Auto run. Pretty standard in MMOs
  6. Fast Switch of Weapon - i.e > Toggle with PS4 controller swipe? Potion activation left. Consumables right. Switch up. Extra bar down.
  7. Resize UI elements
  8. More control in menu
  9. Possibility to increase buff lengths more than 15 seconds. Terribly annoying having to recast it all the time. Doesn't make the combat any more interesting.

Actually, make text chat #1. Voice chat only works in areas with few people.

If I could afford a PC I would be playing it there, but since that is not an option and I already own a ps4, then it has to make due.

The experience is amazing even on the console, but some features are missing to make it feel complete. They are listed above in the order of importance, from my point of view.

I've already made a thread like this, I know. This one is concise and short as people don't like to read an essay.

The only items I would like to see added would be a mini map and the ability to build your own backpacks with leather working instead of taking out a loan to buy 10 extra spaces :p
    EU PS4 Megaserver
    VR16 Sorc - Daggerfall - Magic Build
    VR16 Nightblade - Daggerfall - Stamina Build

PS4 Guild: Illuminati Gaming for the over 30's is not a myth.

I'd add one more thing to the list. Something which lets players know when the enemy they are fighting is in execute HP range.

ZOS will definitely have to comment as it's possible but it's definitely remote.

Consoles are much more of a closed ecosystem so creating/distributing mods is the biggest hurdle. They'd likely need some sort of container system and their own mod distribution platform which might not be something they'd consider a priority. If you've seen other implementations of custom content in other games, it's generally been with a tool bundled in which is generally limited but distributed with the game itself.

While consoles are a major convenience for consistency and comfort(IMO) the fact that both the XBOX and PS4 are a lot less open, is the major limiting factor here.

I don't envision anything like this happening, and if it does it'd probably be limited and not for a long time.

Someone might prove me wrong though.

This has nothing to do with mods or UI.

Most of these things should be in the game natively. Don't ask for mods, ask ZOS to fix their damn UI. They didn't listen to us for a year, but there's more console players than us, so maybe they'll listen to you. They already responded to certain issues faster than they did at first launch.

There's no reason to call yourself a console scrub. Please remember to come up for air sometimes. "Mods" aren't needed per se. Just a better ui.

    1. I agree.
    2. I agree.
    3. I agree
    4. I honestly don't think it's necessary because you can buy back a certain number of items but I suppose it's fine.
    5. Eh, this one is honestly just a keyboard convenience. Sorry man not enough buttons :/.
    6. You know, I actually really like this, but they companies don't like utilizing the touch screen because they don't want to make daddy(Microsoft) mad. Can't have Microsoft issue a big "f u" by not allowing ESO to run on windows now can we?
    7. I agree.
    8. I'm not sure what you mean but can't imagine it would hurt.
    9. Nope. Absolutely not. That's a part of combat balance, and honestly a part of the skill. Maintaining buffs and debuffs IS a skill and superior players will have an advantage in that area.
    10. Don't forget about text chat.( I don't really care, but since we're requesting frequently asked features anyway)
    11. ZOS stop shafting us and give us touchpad functionality. At the very LEAST, make weapon swapping be tied to the touchpad. You know what screw it. Make it ANYTHING to the right of my left analog stick. BB PLZ.
    12. You know, now that I think about it. The entire d-pad is completely useless right now. Since you're not going to let us use the touchpad, make the d pad solely for item use(allowing for 4 quick slots instead of one). I assure you cycling through quests and dancing like an argonian will not be missed.

Also any UI changes mentioned would be optional of course.

PC Gamers have been playing for a year.

So, in my opinion, if more than 50% of the PC Players are using a certain Add-On to add FUNCTIONALITY to the game (Mini-Map/Guild Bank Stacking/Damage Numbers//Etc) then it should just be added directly to the game as OPTIONAL functions.
The Console players need those CHOICES, and the PC Players would then have less things running to drain their resouces and/or have to keep updating outside of ZOS.

Another thing to note. Item sorting for all tabs. Inventory, merchants, bank etc. A PAIN in the ass to cycle everything.

Second thing. Save preset for input of variables in x and y. (x and y = merchants, traders, bank listings etc).

I know many will see these things as pointless, but when you go between 30 traders and have to manually input everything with a joystick. It takes forever and makes it tedious.

I agree. It is a bit shameful that these things got left out of the game. It is as if they cater it to the super casual, and leave the more hardcore gamers out of the equation. It's a big f. you to us who want the option to have more information so we can max our gameplay experience. I want to know all my stats. I want to know xp gain from mobs and rep etc. Because then I can figure out what is most efficient. I get the feeling they want people to know less, so that they spend forever on side quests... spending 2 months rather than a week to hit 50+. Feels very cheap from Zeni's side, and it makes it feel even more like a money grab :/

I feel we aren't asking for much here. It is not like we ask for them to revamp the whole game here. Just the bare essentials to make things a bit more how we want it. Considering on pc you can customise till your ears fall of. Much like in other MMOs.

I agree. They are not needed, but it would make it easier for us to customise stuff considering the patches rolling out to consoles are rather slow paced. I know, the game is only a month old. Regardless, lots of things that SHOULD have been in the game is not! And all the PSN validations will mean it takes a lot longer than we would want with the patch releases.

Also, having a text chat which could be toggled would make things easier. Yes its tedious to type there, even more tedious to never get to communicate because someone doesn't use/own a mic. Having to go in-out of the game to type in dashboard is about 5 extra presses every time you want to talk. Add the dash delays and you are looking at a major time sink. At least till you get into a decent guild.

That said, I think they are going to move in the right direction and I heard there is a new patch inc. next week or so... not sure if it is just a hoax or fact. Take it with a grain of salt.

Now that the post is 50% me I want to end my spam with a note to Zenimax. Can we at least get a response from you guys so we can stop making these posts and spam the forum board?

It's quite simple. All we want is some love, and we will show it right back. As a matter of fact... you already know we love the game, and want it to be the best it can become. Else we wouldn't be here trying to get new features implemented. We would be playing something else. Before we actually know change is coming... you might loose a lot of customers because they don't realise change is in the air (not a threat).

SHOUT IT. SPRAY IT!! Or just write it. Don't care. I just want some feedback from you guys ;)

If I worked for them would I be here in this thread? Lol.

There have been bad game forums before but they do nothing..not even yeah we're thinking about it. Or this is what's planned, or "that's a good idea" or maybe even "not something we want" or anything. They haven't said one thing that means anything in how long? That's why this forum has so much negativity in it..

Doesn't matter. Same obstacles apply to player-made mods. It's the console that's said obstacle, not the game.

This actually works against mods in this case. They have to be extra careful not to let mods give anyone an unfair advantage.

But trivia of the day: Fallout 4 is getting mods on consoles. Obviously limited and only on Xbone for now, but it's getting them.

Like Rosveen is saying, Fallout 4 will get mods. It is only a matter of time before it become the norm (if it is successful). Let us hope that is the case. Unfair advantage? Everyone can use them. Nothing unfair.
