Also it is great you have your vision of what attractive is, others differ and this game could easily accommodate more than just your vision without making it a burlesque, why is that such an outlandish request?

This is a US based game. I don't think people in this country realize just how Puritan our society really is. The rest of the world does... lol

We aren't Puritan. We are terrified of lawsuits. There are two Lawyers in this country for every one person that might be "offended".

ZOS doesn't want to get sued and/or they don't want to deal with any one of the thousand special interest groups that exist in this country that will boycot their product at the slightest whim.

Whether you agree or disagree, I really think its that simple.

Personally, I think it's kinda sad.

    This is also true.

It's a shame; don't get me wrong, I don't want a game as horrible off as TERA. I just like options. Options for everyone. If someone wants to run around in a loincloth like Conan or a chainmail bikini, let them. If they want to be a giant armored trashcan with a tabard on, let them.

I like diverse worlds. They give a feeling of the world being alive... I like that.

I tend to agree here, it is very sad that a small group of busy body totalitarians can exercise a minority veto to impose their desired way of thinking on everyone else.

I miss this armor set and the few disguises that were like it. I am a female player and I wish they would bring them back. Even if they were disguises/costumes only that we could wear and see instead of our armor. It would really liven things up, at least for me instead of seeing the same boring thing all the time.

I am pretty confident in stating the choice was not one based on market sales but instead based on current cultural politically correct busy bodies.

I hate political correctness but come on..... thing were getting pretty ridiculous...(gaming as a whole, not ESO specifically) with the dudes too.... spikes sticking out of everywhere making it onviously more dangerous to the wearer than what theyd be fighting.

Why not have some realism with armor?

Honestly, I'm waiting for somebody to finally implement a full anatomical model into an MMO combat system... it'd be awesome to cut somebody's arm off, slide a dagger into the visor hole, or bludgeon a gaping dent into the chest. .... or see the body actually burn alive, see the armor melt from the fireball, or skin melt from the toxic cloud.... just because its fantasy doesn't mean feeling and looking real is not better and more immersive

We're adventurers. We're not knights riding on horseback after being painstakingly placed in our saddles by squires who armored us up beforehand; we run, we jump, we climb mountains, swim, etc etc. The most realistic armor we could have is to either go all medium (no light or heavy armor at all) or to go with a sports-bra style breastplate with a bikini-like plate bottom to protect the vital parts. This is for both women AND men. Wear whatever else you want with it- a shirt and pants or whatever, but any more metal than that and your adventuring is going to, quite frankly, suck.

So to me, as far as I'm concerned, the "scantily clad" armor is infinitely more realistic than most of the heavy armor choices we have right now.

When you die of sepsis because a dagger nicked your stomach and spilled your entire intestinal tract... I will be the one laughing over your dying body and taking all of your stuff.

Right, because sepsis exists in ESO, as does looting the corpse of another player. :| Kind of a nonsense statement. Moreover, sepsis would take a while to kill, whereas you are speaking of someone being disemboweled. That's the best argument you could come up with?

Its not the disembowlement that kills you... it is sepsis.

And I was being slightly overdramatic.... but the point remains... you do not want to go into combat wearing a sports bra breastblate....

Right, and the point is that this is a GAME and a FANTASY game at that! What people on earth actually did, or do plays only the smallest part, which is just to make it familiar enough to us as players to recognize. ESO is not a Mediaval Earth Warfare Reenactment Simulation. It is a FANTASY GAME! Give us some fantasy beyond the magic!

Suspension of disbelief only goes so far... especially when a game models characters in incredible detail, and has a much more 'realistic' combat model than most mmos....

Yes some games go over the top, let the market sort that out, as you said ESO does not and imo needs to add some more variety

I would have no problem with the realism with armor if they would then at least give us some formal wear and informal wear for town environments and social events.

Like I said... anatomical modeling would be amazing in a fantasy setting with fireballs, ice spears, toxic clouds, and giant bugs everywhere.... just like it is in the movies.

The cinematic presentation of Lord of the Rings is probably the perfect mix between handcrafted artistry and historical authenticity.... and there is a lot of similarities between their style and a lot of the ESO armors.

The more realistic you get... the more subtle you can be with your magic system too... ever think what itd be like to actually boil the water inside the body of that plate wearing DK? ... or make the molecules of the weapon seperate into ions?

OR actually throw rocks at people... levitate a tree and impale some dude with it?

If you're offended by R rated movies, don't see them. If you're offended by an M rated game, don't play it. Simple, from my perspective. The first part of your statement is in conflict with the last part.

It IS a very diverse game, with a diverse group of people. These people will want different things, come from different cultures and consider different things to be "inappropriate". Not every society is as puritan as ours, and even among our society there are those who do not consider the human body (male or female) to be some evil taboo that needs to be covered, head to toe, in shivering shame. Some folks just look at clothing as a way to A) Express themselves B ) not get arrested for indecent exposure.

That's where the diversity thing comes into play. Not everyone wants to see people running around in loincloths, but not everyone wants to be limited to being an Amish Knight. There should be options for everyone. And if you run into a player who you find to be "unsavory" and who offends your sensibilities with their loose demeanor and clothing... walk the other way!

As far as revealing armor in game, I say sure, so long as it's relegated to cloth armor only. That way it makes a bit of sense for it to be relatively unprotected; and before you go clamoring that's it's magically protected that's not how magic works in the ESO universe. Only jewelry can be enchanted to provide protection here.

This! The revealing midriff of the Bosmer is fine in my opinion - their revealing leather and cloth are reflective of the warmer, more tropical climates in which their race originates. But please, no stripper girl armor for the love all that is ESO!! What kind of warrior runs around looking like a Las Vegas showgirl in heals! I laughed so much at my characters in GW2 that eventually I covered their stupid looking armor designed to appeal to a 14 year old boy with costumes. And no more metal bustiers ever - Bye Bye horrible Orc Female heavy armor!

I miss this armor set and the few disguises that were like it. I am a female player and I wish they would bring them back. Even if they were disguises/costumes only that we could wear and see instead of our armor. It would really liven things up, at least for me instead of seeing the same boring thing all the time.

I don't know about the pants and gloves, but the top is boomer rawhide and is still available in the game.

There are definitely scantier armor choices in the game, along with the clothing items. One just needs to know what they are.
