I don't get how horses that appear out of nowhere when you whistle for them, and then disappear when you dismount, and wayshrines that allow you to "warp" across the continent in seconds are acceptable as "realistic" to some people but sexy armor isn't. Especailly considering it's an "M" rated game, I don't see what the deal is, really. It's not like people are asking for nude mods and "lovers lab" - esque sex mods, just some attractive armor. How are the above examples, as well as hundreds of others I could come up with not "immersion breaking" or "un-realistic", but armor that shows some exposed skin is?

You can't compare armour (which ZOS does control) to open chat (which they don't control unless a player is reported by another) side-by-side and if you think you can then you need to grow up. I am glad they went with a better approach to armour than most other MMO's.
I hate seeing the ridiculous scantily clad armours in MMO's because women who were fighters never wore than kind of crap and high heels, etc.. in combat. The armour in this game wasn't designed around being prostitute inspired and if that's your thing then fine but go look at other games because they went with a different style which, IMO, was the better choice anyway. Sure it's a fantasy game, that's why we have magic, wayshrines, strange creatures, etc... but fantasy doesn't mean it HAS to have armor that shows more skin than amour itself. It also doesn't mean they can't go with a slightly more realistic approach to armour style than other fantasy games.

I do not get why people keep talking about that ZOS is hating on revealing clothes. When it obvious that they only change Redguard and Orc armor because it is not what they envision the style of races armors should be which is why they change the armor and cleaned it up . It does not make since why an Orc female race's armor of a whole would have a boob window since it is not the nature of the Orcs to show weakness especially in heavy armor. It also does not make sense why Redguards who are the most discipline, strict and martial warriors would have light armor really skimpy but they have their medium armor and heavy cover everything up. The old light armor just did not fit with the other Redguard armors styles. It also did fit with the culture. Now there is other styles that show skin like Argonian, Barbaric, Bosmer, and the seducer costume they did not change so.
Also as we know that the term "sexy" is subjective term. I do not consider showing skin to be sexy. I love it when women wheres form fitting clothes showing their curves. To me that is sexy and most of the armor in this game fit nice and snuggly on the female character form. So most of the armor in this game is sexy to me. I find the "M" is just basic ratting that has more meanings than just showing skin. This game is rate "M" for blood and gore, sexual themes, use of alchool, and violence. Sexual themes just mean there is innuendo of sexual ideas in the game and there are.
Honestly, I think the ridiculous armor is the giant tank-suits that you can't move around in, can't swim with etc. Gladiators had the right of it- less is more.
We're adventurers. We're not knights riding on horseback after being painstakingly placed in our saddles by squires who armored us up beforehand; we run, we jump, we climb mountains, swim, etc etc. The most realistic armor we could have is to either go all medium (no light or heavy armor at all) or to go with a sports-bra style breastplate with a bikini-like plate bottom to protect the vital parts. This is for both women AND men. Wear whatever else you want with it- a shirt and pants or whatever, but any more metal than that and your adventuring is going to, quite frankly, suck.
So to me, as far as I'm concerned, the "scantily clad" armor is infinitely more realistic than most of the heavy armor choices we have right now.
They changed more than those two, they also raised the neckline on many of the outfits.
Also it is great you have your vision of what attractive is, others differ and this game could easily accommodate more than just your vision without making it a burlesque, why is that such an outlandish request?

This is a US based game. I don't think people in this country realize just how Puritan our society really is. The rest of the world does... lol

When you die of sepsis because a dagger nicked your stomach and spilled your entire intestinal tract... I will be the one laughing over your dying body and taking all of your stuff.
But here is the caveat. Its a magical fantasy world so in reality we could enchant, put a spell on ANY armor to be more protective....

lol fair enough. But when you drown in a lake for inability to swim across it, or get too tired to outrun those deadra cause of the full car chasis you have on... I'll take yours =D

That's a common misconception, proper armor allows for a great range of mobility, particularly because it's evenly distributed throughout the body. What you're referring to is tournament armor, which as the name suggests is not the sort of armor we run around with daily. Nothing done in game is overly unrealistic.

This link does a great job of supporting what I said, while being incorrect in other parts
Talking about people other than knights who wore armor:
"Usually this would not be a complete suit of armor, but comprised at least a helmet, a body defense in the form of a mail shirt (2008.245), fabric armor, or breastplate, as well as a weapon such as a spear, pike, bow, or crossbow"
As you can see, full plate for anyone outside of knights was rare. Everyone else covered vital areas only.
Now, it also goes on to say that plate armor was actually light and easy to move in. This is extremely incorrect. Plate was heavy, and a MAJOR burden on the people who wore it. So the misconception exists: the misconception that heavy plate armor is not heavy, and is easy to move in.

So as you can see, that link misses the mark by quite a bit. Plate armor is HEAVY, it is a burden and no adventurer would make it very far with that on.

Right, because sepsis exists in ESO, as does looting the corpse of another player.Kind of a nonsense statement. Moreover, sepsis would take a while to kill, whereas you are speaking of someone being disemboweled. That's the best argument you could come up with?

The #1 lesson MMO forums have taught me: All women should be covered from head to toe at all times. Anything less is indecent and could lead to impure, lustful thoughts!

Its not the disembowlement that kills you... it is sepsis.
And I was being slightly overdramatic.... but the point remains... you do not want to go into combat wearing a sports bra breastblate....

Right, and the point is that this is a GAME and a FANTASY game at that! What people on earth actually did, or do plays only the smallest part, which is just to make it familiar enough to us as players to recognize. ESO is not a Mediaval Earth Warfare Reenactment Simulation. It is a FANTASY GAME! Give us some fantasy beyond the magic!
