I know that but the prices on consoles are outrageous for the most part, a good example would be someone trying to sell 17 calcinium for 10k. I attempt to buy those that are priced at reasonable rates like I found one seller who was selling 100 galatite for 4.5k.

I would never consider what Raw Mats sell for to be a reasonable price. They are always going to be about 5 to 10 times what the refined sells for. The only thing you can do is hunt all the kiosks and hope. I have seen maybe 3 listings at a bargain price in my travels on the PC.

It would take you less time to farm 1500 ingredients than to find bargains in the Guild Stores.

Oh, that Achievement your chasing, you don't get the dye until you have 3000 Refining Operations. On my master Clothier/Wood Worker who has refined every cloth, leather and wood material any of my 8 characters has farmed, still does not have that dye unlocked. And, she has been doing this since one month after PC Release. My Blacksmither will never get this one.

You have it backwards, 300 Refining Operations requires 3000 materials. This covers all materials, cloth, leather, wood and metal.

I forgot this is one of the things in the game that has dyes at interim steps. There are not many of them. Most of the time you get a smattering of points until you finally get the dye. There is another dye that unlocks at 3000 Refining Operations (30,000 raw materials), I did check this stat this morning, and my crafter is at 2571 operations and there is a Silver dye to unlock when I get her there. I think the other dye is at either 1000 or 1500 operations, but there are 3 dyes for this one.

Now, here is a trick and you will help two achievements at the same time (and your leveling skills, character, and getting loot and gold) More Bang for the Buck than you can shake a stick at.

Go find Mudcrab Clusters and kill them. They drop hides. I can run the West Coast of Grahtwood from Southpoint to where you can't walk north anymore and kill 80 mudcrabs, each dropping leather. Port back the WS at Southpoint and repeat the path. You will also work on one of the harder to get Nature Slayer achievement parts as Mudcrabs go docile after a while so you tend not to kill them. But, you need 500 to get part of the NS Achievement.

There are other places like this in other zones where there are clusters of mudcrabs. Then there are wolves, they are squishy and drop hides. Anyway, a couple of hours, you will have more gold and loot than you know what to do with, several skills leveled, and all raw mats you need to get the dye you want.

That's what I do normally I just go find mudcrabs and kill them since they drop them almost every kill.
