Question about leveling up class skills.

My character is a Sorc and I am currently trying to level up Daedric Summoning. But for some reason my Storm Calling is actually higher and leveling faster. Both are level 32 but SC is close to 33 while DS is just at the start of 32.

Now when I am questing and going through the game normally, I always have 2 DS skills slotted on my bar. And only 1 SC skill which is my Ultimate. When I turn in quests I switch to my back up ability bar that has 3 DS skills slotted and my SC Ultimate. I've been running this setup for quite a awhile now.

I thought your Class Skill level would raise the more skills you have slotted from that particular line. So shouldn't my DS skill level be higher then my SC skill level? Or am I missing something?

Much thanks in advance

Normally yes, but Ultimates may be worth more. Didn't think they were worth more than 3 normals though.

Yeah I don't know. I haven't had a SC skill other then my Ultimate for like 10 levels now and yet SC is leveling faster then DS

Maybe you read a skill book that moved one of the class lines up.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Dunno if ultimates are worth more in advancement. But then, sooner or later your ulti will be maxed and then you may want to change to level up a different ulti anyhow, right? By the time my sorc was through Silver, I had all the class skills morphed and maxed... so its just a matter of patience (especially when working on those... eh... suboptimal skills)

Maybe. But I wouldn't think a few lore books would keep it on par with +10 character levels with 3 skills slotted on the bar.

Yes it would as the Skill Books (not Lore Books those are different) give you an entire skill level but do not reset your interim skill progress. So, your at 37.8 on a skill, you read the book, now your 38.8. If you have one skill from each of your classes on your bar, and you read only a skill book for one of the classes, that class will always be one skill level ahead.
