Healing & Spell Penetration

jeanbulinckxub17_ESO
Looking forums but cannot find a reliable source about how Spell Penetration affects healing.
Some say it don't affects at all but I want to see numbers/screenshots/testers.

I ask because I'm a very active end game gorup content healer and on verge to craft nirhoned gear

Why would Healing need any Spell Penetration? Its not an Attack that can be blocked or absorbed or mitigated or needs to be.

Nothing in the game mechanics has an effect on healing effectiveness other than some crafted/dropped sets giving more healing received.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I agree about penetration concept but you forgot about Criticals. It affects healing a lot. Also more crits helps build ultimates.
My question if anyone tested it a lot or know some piece of documentation/developer comment about penetration+heal.

To me making penetration work to give more heal is not nonsense also there are healing builds using bonus set giving both (crit & spell pen) and i like to make sure if it's useless as i think it is

Oh, yes, Criticals are a help to Healing. What I would use on your Healing Staff is the Precise Trait. Nirn does not have any Critical Effects just some penetration which does not help healing.

However, logically speaking, the game would not mitigate any healing generated from any source. There is no Damage Threshold or Damage Reduction that applies to the mechanic. I see this all the time when I am healing, I have ran with groups that have a L48 and a VR14 in it, and even with their different armor levels, (very significant differences in the group I run with as the L48 is in Light, and the VR14 is in Heavy) the healing effects are applied the same to each player character. If there were any armor effects on healing it would make it very difficult to keep a tank alive.

I thought it broke cloak at one point ?
That implies it is functioning like other skills to some degree.
Not saying I know any better...have no experience healing others.
Anything that can be exploited will be exploited

In short: Nirhoned trait is a waste for healers.
For the sake of healer a trait to increase enchantements or crits or divines are better =/

Well, it does put a glow around the person being healed, so anyone should be able to see that glow.

I think almost anything breaks Cloak, even the player sneezing breaks cloak on the player characters.

Crit and spell damage will affect your healing power. plus set bonus such as the healer set will increase healing done. I believe there is a mundus stone for healing also. There is also 3 different champion point slots for increasing your healing.

Thanks bowmanz. I already using all that stuff and tested both crit, max magica and healing stones comparing. Just don't want to waste materials to craft a vr14 nirhoned gear for the sake of testing =)

btw: Max magica do the best sustained healing for end game (for my build)

Mostly true, except for some abilities. Evasion (Medium Armor active skill) & Morphs as well as Blur (Nightblade Skill) & Morphs actually make you dodge "projectile based healing", I have dodged Mutagen as well as the Templar ultimate.

Also, a bug in the champion system (the "Resistant" star in the Steed constellation) reduces healing amount of crit heals.

I admit, both seem to be bugs and not intended, but we still do have these issues :D

Impenetrable rating does also reduce critical heals.
But no one seems to care about that...
