Sorc Streak nerf.. again

So as we all know update 7 will be nerfing streak again this time it stacks the 50% within the 4 seconds,
This means if you use it in 4 seconds after using it then it goes to 50% then 100% then 150% and so on,
I feel like if they keep nerfing this ability it will totally hurt the class as it is because alot of classes have something to want,
Nightblades sneak, templars heals, dks tankiness, and sorcs just have a damage shield. Thats about it. I feel like this
Will hurt the class because there arnt alot of sorcs (im on console)

Whats all the other sorcs out there outlook on this?

    Why is this even an issue, on average BE will still be cast-able for several consecutive casts allowing the sorc to escape, all this does is prevent perma-bolting.

    Why do you need to be able to bolt across an entire map if all that is needed is an effective escape which it still will be?

    They should allow NB to be invisible for 4 seconds. That would be fair.

    That's the problem with games like this..they try to balance and make changes like this for PVP and PVE gets shorted as well. Vise versa happens as well.
    Anyone else rooting for Molag Bal?

    That is the problem with PVE, you want a broken skill to stay broken, it is not called Bolt Travel, it is called Bolt Escape, no class should get a free pass on travel, use horses like everyone else. The intent is to be used as an escape spell, not to travel everywhere giving a unique adavantage to a class no other class has anything comparable to.

    This change is needed for PVE just as much as PVP.

    Bolt Bolt Sprint Bolt Bolt Sprint or Bolt Form Sprint Bolt Form Sprint... hardly a nerf because you need to use 1 or 2 more buttons.

    If they nerfed it, they would nerf the absorb projectiles part of it.

    Just another *** weak decision from developers that have no idea how to achieve balance.
    When everyone is playing Nightblade and in hide they may just get what they seem to be aiming.
    A seemingly empty Cyrodiil where everyone is in hide two feet away from each other but nobody knows where anyone is.

    Magelight, detection pots etc... , Im a dk and even i don't think stealth is too bad of a problem at the moment, if i see a nb stealth i just block or if its ranged i cast reflective scales and wait for it to come out and hit it with crit rush.

    Doesn't bother me, I rarely use it. I prefer to face my enemies rather than streak away from them.

    I know what you mean. Several months ago vampires were able to use an armor set called nights silence which allowed them to run really fast when stacked with Vampires dark stalker passive. The down side of wearing that armor was the stats weren't great at all plus once you have been sighted then you ran normal. I used it for traveling from node to node for crafting.

    Still til this day I'm annoyed that I had to buy a horse for my vamp but eventually I got used to it. I was planning on leveling a sorcerer for bolt escape mostly and I had a feeling this would get nerfed so I started lvling my horses stats. Glad I did.

    Sadly the funnest skills always get nerfed.

    I only bolt escape away if I know for a fact there is no way I can win (i.e., a 3v1), and unless there is another sorc chasing me, 3-4 BE will get me out of range. Otherwise I use it for CC and positioning. Not that much of a nerf, but it will be hard for me to catch up to my group if I miss the Rapid Maneuvers :P

    It's an issue because Sorcs use Bolt in PvE as well, and bosses don't wait for you to regen magicka before they resume beating on your ass. There are times I've solo'd dungeons where I had to Bolt almost constantly to avoid some insta-gib boss mechanic.

    I have posted this elsewhere but there is a solution to this. The increasing cost is ok if they either reduce the time from 4 seconds to 1.5, or allow a heavy (or melee attack) to erase the cooldown.

    This rewards sorcerers for staying in the fight but still punishes those who spam the ability. Rationale below:

    The main benefits of using (the base skill) bolt escape are:
    1. Maintaining superior positioning on the battlefield
    2. Kiting an enemy
    3. Being able to completely disengage/tranverse long distances quickly

    Most of these nerfs are stemming from the application of benefit 3, i.e spamming the skill. However, applications 1 and 2 are critical to the sorcerer class due to the lack of self heals and the light armor situation. The current/proposed nerfs though intended to address #3, greatly reduce the effectiveness of 1 and 2 as well and harm the mobility of the class overall considering the other aforementioned class drawbacks.

    The goal of this post is to suggest a compromise to ZOS that maintains a Sorc's ability to perform 1 and 2, while still having a mana penalty for using the skill for application 3.

    Bolt Escape: (base skill and all morphs) Performing a fully charged heavy attack on a target will remove the 4s cooldown timer.

    Streak morph: In addition to the above, any melee attack will remove the cooldown timer.


    Rationale: This will allow the skill to punish those who spam it but reward those who actually intend to stay and fight. Kiting an enemy (not completely disengaging) is an important and fun class strength for the sorcerer and this change would preserve it. Any decent opponent with a speed buff or a gap closer would have plenty of time to close the distance if you had to execute a heavy attack before bolting again as you would be limited to the range of your heavy attack.

    Extra Rationale for the necessity of the "Melee attack" addition for streak. While Ball of Lighting is good for Kiting, Streak is a melee ability by design (due to damage cause when you streak through someone) and as such is designed for sorcerers who are in the very thick of the fight against classes much better suited for melee combat.

    I know that stamina sorcs (and PvE sorc tanks) are a very low percentage of players but there is a reason for that. Eric spoke about increases options for stam sorcs and this would be extremely helpful and would synergize well with other melee abilities. Bolt escape is already prohibitively expensive for stam sorcs, being able to reset it with any melee attack encourages sorcs to stay in the fight and lets the class benefits of mobility and positioning work for all sorcerers.

    This was needed, it isnt fun when theres 1 sorcerer, and your entire army goes after it like lemmings and realizing they never cant catch-up. Teleport is just OP, way too much mobility and too much control.

    So sorcerers need to be nerfed because PUGs cant control themselves?

    Best counter to bolt escape is /wave
