Guilds and communication.

Your insistence on removing core communication functions from this MMO has harmed my Guilds ability to function and grow. And players that have stuck together for years are talking about abandoning our own core groups Guild in hopes of finding other Guilds that may or may not be more successful. All because of the lack of communication options.

So thanks for the VOIP. Its such a wonderful step in the wrong direction. And by all means, continue to ignore this issue on Console. Im sure it wont continue to divide the playerbase.

Wish pc had voice chat built in. But i cant believe anyone would play a mmo that dosnt have text chat.

Its a nice feature if it was restricted to Group and Guild. But the fact that everywhere you go youre listening to strangers breathing into the mic, eating chips, coughing and cursing, arguing with others, screaming for no other reason than to annoy those within the same vicinity as they are...Its a chore to continuously go into Social and unjoin Area Chat when moving around. Its hard enough dealing with all of that and then to worry...how am I going to meet like minded people when THIS is the type of people I run into in every social zone? How am I to recruit new members to my guild when Ill be doing nothing more then adding to the ear piercing noise?

I'm genuinely sorry and hope @zos quickly Implements text chat to help keep the game going

good luck but honestly I would suggest starting to use outside forms of communication. Even a Facebook group or something where you can simply be constantly in contact.

crap am I too late for pc master race comment?! If I want VOIP I log onto team speak. Other than that I enjoy my text chat ;D I am baffled that ZoS thought people wouldnt want/cant handle text chat or the ability to remap controls lol shows what they think of you console people ^_^ .....now that I think about it....shows what ZoS thinks of us all......

Oh well, maybe one day ZoS will wake up ^_^

Theyre hoping that by joining another guild theyll get lucky and get into a larger guild and that the issues theyre having in ours wont be as consistent. The guild Im running is currently stagnating due to the lack of interaction between players that have mics and players that dont. Theyre having to exit the game and send messages via the messages option through PSN. To add to this, going into a social zone and only having VOIP to utilize to recruit new members is making it harder then it is on PC to get people to engage. There is no option to silence someone thats being obnoxious or trolling. So engaging players that may be interested in joining the guild is even more difficult. Again forcing you out of the game to discuss things with a potential new member. On PC text chat could net you possibly multiple players interested in joining and you could interact with all of them rather quickly there in the text chat window. Now youre forced to interact with each of them through separate messages outside the game and possibly ignoring others.

I understand, when I'm grouped with the 2 people I know we use the consoles party chat to avoid any background noise from the type of players you're talking about.
I also know the frustration in finding like minded people to group with or add to the guild...I started a guild that has a whopping 4 members in it, me included.

I've seen several threads on this topic and really appreciate them. More people need to express their frustrations and provide their ideas and solutions. The current voice only system on console is the biggest problem with the game for me. Unless there are big improvements it will probably be the thing that drives me from the game. MMOs are supposed to be social but in this game I literally have to turn off chat every time I zone.

I just dont get why @ZOS is not even addressing our post as console players on any thing...Text chat back the first couple days they said they were looking into it...since then nothing has been said and the 2 or 3 page post has turned into 50+, thats not counting the multi threads thast have been locked and deleted, also not counting the what 75 page poll that was up right before launch and all them post..

You wanna make this game 2 seperate games with the different updates times ( heck we haven't even heard when xp potions patch (ive got 3 lvl 50 provisoners waiting and about 2200 bait waiting lol i wanna make money)).Lest give us our own comunity rep who can address console concerns..because sometimes like text chat and guild bank stack they will differ from pc..and seems your current community rep is Mia on console issues ..

Ohh and beofre i get hit with this well they have to wait for PS to approve the patch..I played DCUO which was on both PS and PC..you could go to the fourms check test server for the last update on a patch and then look at the date that patch went live ..no more then a week and it went live on both PC and PS at the same time..Were now at 3 weeks cine the poition patch (as a refence) and yet no word on a patch date for us...wait till its about new content alot of people gonna blow a gasket if they have to wait a month lol

I seem to remember on PC, people filling up the chat logs with nonsense and other childish drivel.

Either way, you're going to run into stupidity no matter what chat options are. We do need mute, I do admit.

yeah any mmo is full of text / voice trolls you just ignore them..thats one thiong DCUO did right with there text and voice..theres a recent text and recent voice tab super easy to get to to click a player name and ignore them..ZOS took the lazy way here theres no in game profile for anyone so you can inspect anyones armor or stats and if you wanna ignore someone it takes you out of game and to psn to ignore them...be like taking pc out of game to a ignore ip address program

Console really does need a zone text chat. Too many times, I have gotten to a group boss and had to sit and wait for someone... anyone to show up to fight it since I can't send a zone text that the boss was up. And since some bosses are tucked away and you have to stumble onto them to find them, it can be a long wait.

And how easy was it to ignore those childish trolls on PC? You clicked on their name in the chat window and ignored them. You dont have that here on Console. You have to leave the game or shut off VOIP Area Chat all together. Its insane that your only two options are either leaving the game to handle an issue or completely cutting yourself off from the only social/communication mechanic in the game.
