From what I'm getting, I think my first trip to Cyrodil should be with a Shadow Assassin type of toon with MAJOR sneaking and invisibility options and to NEVER use the main roads and avoid absolutely everybody, everwhere.

Funny... sounds like my college years.

Perhaps not Finvir's trinket, unless you wish to ring the dinner bell instead.

There's sooo much fun to be had with a large group PVPing as long as the servers remain semi-stable. The biggest problem as I see it to enjoying this is the ridiculously broken grouping system and no chat box for the consoles.

    Is it just me here?

Failing that, I don't see why I should be barred from exploring a huge chunk o' land with some interesting spots to explore? Sneaking around the PVP rubes and passing unnoticed is a challenge and fun in and of it's self. :persevere:

That's because there's no benefit to letting an enemy player go. They may be questing... they may be requesting backup to help take you down. It's hard to know, and most players make the assumption of self preservation (kill or be killed).

Well, if you slaughter them in a questing area, they will DEFINITELY request backup to come and punk your a**.

As soon as you see someone, go into stealth mode. I'm in EP and was walking around in DC territory, turned a corner and ran right into a DC soldier. We both went into stealth at the same time and scurried away like the cowards we are.

Maybe, but its still ambiguous, I would like something that clearly asks for a truce.

I don't like the idea of the guy I don't trust hiding on me. Better if we are both visible. Cold war style.

Is there any interest in adding a 'I'm only questing' emote or a 'truce' emote for the people in PvP running quests.

I know it won't always work to ask your enemy for a temp truce but there are times when I don't really want to kill a lone quester but I just can't be sure he won't attack me for my trusting nature.

That would be the equivalent to putting a large target on your back.

Then you are definitely in the minority. From reading this thread, I've come to the conclusion that most PvPers in Cyrodil are paranoid sociopaths that kill anything that moves, "Just in case". Hey, Tamriel and Nirn are apparently rough.

If I'm not mistaken , Cyr is a PVP zone.

War is nuance. Not simplicity. Much can be gained from temporary truces or the custom of allowing players to move in peace if they present no challenge.

after all if a player is not actively attacking you and you thrash him, you suck not him. A player whose build only succeeds against afk map checkers is trash.

I understand it won't always happen but most of the better players don't need to scrape the defenless bottom of the barrel for wins.

3 out of 4 times, when I encounter enemy players while questing, they make no move to attack. Most people are just trying to get their dailies done lol. I think it's just that threads like this tend to attract players that are bothered by the thought of pacifism in a pvp zone.

Is there any interest in adding a 'I'm only questing' emote or a 'truce' emote for the people in PvP running quests.

It's pretty dishonorable to state your intent and acceptance that you are interested in fighting in Cyrodiil by zoning in, and then crying foul when someone else carries through with it. Cyrodiil is an RVR zone. It has some non player characters related to quests there to give something to do occasionally, and help concentrate a little of the small scale action. Cyrodiil isn't a questing storyline pve zone that just happens to allow pvp. No one goes into a dungeon and complains that other players are only killing monsters and they aren't allowed to hit eachother. Likewise, no one should be going into an alliance war player versus player specific zone nd then complaining that others are enjoying it as intended: a battlefield.

You're scared of dying... but only if it's to another player? Why? You don't get a repair bill, even. You don't use a soul gem, either, like in the dedicated, designated, extremely large and majority of the game world questing zones that have no possibility or mechanic to allow for pvp. Why does it scare you to die in Cyrodiil in particular? Food for thought <3.

Yep... if I see someone I don't think is a threat and they back away while blocking and then run, I usually will let them go until or unless they attack or prove otherwise :p. I don't have much fun shooting fish in a barrel. If there's even a small question though... I will do my best to kill them.
