That's because there's no benefit to letting an enemy player go. They may be questing... they may be requesting backup to help take you down. It's hard to know, and most players make the assumption of self preservation (kill or be killed).Wouldn't matter. Somebody will still attack you and slaughter you, no matter what you do.

I know it won't always work to ask your enemy for a temp truce but there are times when I don't really want to kill a lone quester but I just can't be sure he won't attack me for my trusting nature.

I hate teamwork. That just means I have to split the spoils. That's because there's no benefit to letting an enemy player go. Yeah, as a PvE player, only twice I ran into an enemy player (questing) and they didn't either kill me (or attempt), or call for backup. It's a risk you need to take to get those questing hubs done, which I really like. Makes questing there more exciting
If you're finding it really tough, try making an event out of it and going with a group of guildee's.

That works....unless you are Daggerfall
Where's that one place? I'll avoid it like the plague.Sallington wrote: »Please don't come to the ONE place in the game that allows PvP and complain that someone killed you while questing.
... Why? Oh Why? Do they give you that option at level 10 where the only thing that's going to happen is that you're going to get squished?
...

Always.
