Forgive me but what are ya talkin' 'bout. I don't care so much about what %s are currently. What matters is how they are changing from current in the next major update. What I've read so far is 50%.

Yes, shields protect the caster from dots but you forgot to mention that shields have 0 mitigation. If you apply dots on shields they should have some form of mitigation. Shield stacking isnt as easy as you might think, if you get CCed without the full shield up you're done if you dont break-free and recast it within 1-2 seconds. Besides that you need to keep track of the attacks that hit you because there is not separation between magical and physical shields in the UI. Sometimes you think you have a shield up but the 20k snipe ignores the harness magicka shield completly.
Also, unlike other classes sorcs dont have any self-heal or way to mitigate damage. With 8-9k shields sorcs will get melted by anyone with a decent burst. Even my 14k hardened ward is gone with 2x ambush, so what other way is there for sorcs to mitigate damage? The resist from lightning form and bound armor are a joke, it comes down to 2% damage reduction or something.

Yea I totally agree. It's really really easy to deal with Shield stacking Sorcs. You only need to time it. 1 cc is usually enough to finish them. Also, even the best Sorcerer WILL forget to stack shields, when you give him the opportunity to go full offense.
They WILL forget their shields and then bam. So a good way is to pretend to be defensive and let them feel like they could burst you down (which they can't) and then it only takes 1 cc and 1 hit and it's over. I know, that most Sorcs are specced for sustain instead of damage. So Sorc damage is easy to manage. But that's another topic...
Shields actually deserve a buff in my opinonhaha. But let's wait for the patchnotes. There is enough time to make QQ threads when PTS starts
Simplay Fix, there should be a Skill in Ally Tree wich purge down all Buffs from the target.
Problem solved.
Both Purges (in matter they will think on adding it) should make a debuff for 3-5 secs in wich you cant get purged a other time.
* If i purge my Grp from the fire Ballista, all get a debuff for X Secs and cant get purged a other time.
* If i purge a enemy he get a buff and cant get purged a other time for X secs
@Dracane I dont want to make dots go trough shields, but slowly drain them like entropy, imo its supposed to be like that, now u use dotlike skill and dots arent applied only initial dmg which are like 3k - worth to use 3k dmg skill like destro reach on dampened guy?? tell me?? u hit him with 3k destro reach and his shield is 9k, should slowly be drained by dot effect from destro reach, but ofc dot effect isnt applied... isn't that kinda broken?

IMO it kinda makes sense. Entropy is a ticking spell, it hits several times. DoT from destro staff, on the other hand, is a debuff. So the question is: should magical shields be flammable?
Here is the reason they cannot stop shield stacking:
All classes can use healing ward, and sorc use hardern ward, Templar and DK use healing, NB use cloak, that's how the game works now. ( on top of that sorc have BE, NB can roll, DK Templar can reflect)
If you don't allow sorc use hardern ward and healing ward together, then they have to make Templar and DK cannot heal when they have healing ward up, also NB cannot cloak with healing wards up to be fair, or you just take away one of sorc's survival skill.
If you can't out damage sorc's ward, that's the same as you can't out damage templar's healing.
Sorc's weakness on their stamina bar, empty it and you can kill them easily. In PVP you need to learn each build's weakness to win the fight.

I think, shields are actually pretty fine and shield stacking is necessary, or it would be useless. Stacking Harness Magicka+ Class shield is perfectly valid. But healing ward on top is too much.
But nerfing healing ward, would make it weaker for those who use it for what it's supposed to be used and this would be sad. But they've announced a damage shield bonus damage set. So maybe you folks want to wait for it and see how it works. I'm sure, everyone will be using it.

I don't think the mechanic of Healing Ward was aimed at being a self heal, from the tooltip description that is.

I know whenever I needed the ward (when running with a group) I never got it, when casting!
