Is there a special combo for Potion of Health?

FizzyColaBottles
Hi there,
I am a seasoned crafter (alchemy @35), but have only just looked to do the writs - first alchemist writ i picked up at the start is craft potion of health and acquire lady's smock (x3)
I have done this, but no matter what type of restore health potion I make, I can't seem to fulfill this writ, it must be a no brainer - what am I doing wrong?

Thanks for the reply, it is a level 1 writ, and it says "potion of health" -

You need L30 water for that. Cleansed Water I think it is called. That is not a L1 Writ.

Solution of Health is for L40 and uses Filtered Water.

The writ level has nothing to do with your character level. It is determined by the number of skillpoints you have spent in the craft tree option which specifies what level of item you can *create* ...

That also determines what ingredients you will have to use and where you will have to deliver the goods to.

Thanks, sounds like I was given the wrong writ at the start of the game, ok - does it allow you to abandon and pick another writ?

    Yes.

But, make sure and check your Solvent or Water level. You can skill up that way past your character levels (we all do it when grinding out the skill). But, now that Writs are here and they are tied to the Solvent level, then that determines the level of writ you get.

It tells you the exact type needed in the writ quest details. The name of the potion is unique to the level of solvent needed for it.

It's all about the water. Make sure you are using the appropriate water (Cleansed for L30) for the level of Writ you are doing. Also make sure the Health Potion you make is ONLY Health, and not some potion called "Health Potion" that has other things on it. There are several different combinations of boosts that still have the same name. Another bumble by ZOS!

Thanks for the reply, it is a level 1 writ, and it says "potion of health" - but if it was actually to be "potion" my understanding that is using alchemy level 40? above my rank anyway
I tried with sip of health, tincture of health, dram of health, and tried buying a level 27 potion of health from an alchemist

does this mean I need to wait until I am level 40

Pretty sure that as long as the name is exact, it should be fine. Fair warning, because I may have used up a tri pot fulfilling a writ before. Some traits go ahead of others in the naming scheme, like blessed thistle and dragonthorn which create a weapon power potion instead of a stamina one.

As far as a health potion, blue entoloma and luminous russula will give you it cheap and simple.
